Today on Star Spotting we are in mourning, as we look back fondly on Katy Perry's long, lustrous hair. Yes, it is still shampoo-commercial shiny, but it no longer stretches halfway down her back.
No, as you can see here, the raven-haired California Gurl has chopped off her long locks, getting herself an incredibly chic bob. New album, new hair, we suppose.
The transformation took place somewhere between Perry's trip to Australia, where she was spotted shopping in and around Sydney last week (with her usual long and lovely hair) and the above pic, as she arrived at Tokyo's Narita Airport.
Perry is in the Far East to promote her new album, Teenage Dream, which drops next Tuesday, August 24. Take a look at two videos below: Katy's wigged out "California Gurls" and Pavement's ode to losing your locks, "Cut Your Hair."
UPDATE: Looks like we may have jumped the gun with our hysteria, as it seems Katy has been snapped rocking a wig in the past that looks very much like the hairstyle (or wig) she's wearing above. Developing!
