Not playing second fiddle to Beyonce sure suits Kelly Rowland. Mind you, there's no beef between now-grown Destiny's Children, per se. But Kelly Rowland's really come into her own as a solo artist as of late, collaborating with top0notch producers to create a fresh sound and subsequently revamp her image.
Now she's Kelly Rowland, dance floor diva; and it looks like that's how it's staying. In this Buzzworthy video interview Kelly Rowland reveals how she got her groove back, more or less. How she added more "sass" to her music -- specifically to "Commander." She also tells us the funny story about getting kicked out of her own studio during the writing of that dance smash.
Kelly also fills us in on meeting her heroes, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson, both of whom serenaded her with Destiny's Child songs -- Michael Jackson specifically sang "Bootylicious" to her, and Whitney Houston sang "Say My Name." Kelly also reveals the childhood hero who got her star struck -- Janet Jackson. And she told us a little more about her new charity, I Heart My Girlfriends.
