If your mental picture of a journalist is some down-and-dirty writer braving the elements in a safari jacket and cargos... or some Anna Wintour-ish figure in a Chanel suit and neutral heels, well then Lindsay Lohan is totally changing that image here isn't she? As guest writer for the September issue of BlackBook magazine -- which features a shockingly blonde Mark Ronson on the cover -- Lindsay Lohan got comfie in some come-hither black patent sky-high, thigh-high boots. Maybe it's easier to write that way? (Maybe having "f--- you" painted on your nails helps too!)

In her BlackBook article, a fresh-from-rehab Lindsay reveals that she feels very fortunate to be able to roam the globe, picking up Chanel bags along her merry way. Stars -- they're not at all like us!

It's always interesting to get to know a band that has such a defined image. Take Maroon 5, for example. Here's a bunch of guys who have made their wedge making seductive, sleek and sexy funk-pop for club-goers, love-makers and everybody in between. But what's Maroon 5 like when they're not setting the mood for love? Well, they're pretty normal bros, honestly.

In this Buzzworthy interview, Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine and keyboardist Jesse Carmichael chat about how their first album (Songs About Jane), and their second album (It Won't Be Soon Before Long), pretty much equals their third album (the upcoming Hands All Over). That's musical math, students!

The Maroon 5 guys also discuss why they make such sexually charged videos. Adam Levine admits “I like sex. I like it. I’m not gonna lie. It’s a good thing. Sex is really good.” Adam Levine ponders why people would want to watch a bunch of dudes playing instruments in their music videos, to which he basically says:

We, however, give thumbs up to this interview, the rest of which is comprised of Levine and Carmichael trying to decide who could beat up who within the band, and which tracks they chose for their iheartradio station.

Check out Maroon 5's interview below. Hands All Over is out September 21st.

What does a pop music icon do after a tough week of filming a guest spot on a hit television show? Why, she goes to Hawaii and chills the heck out in the hot sun! What did you think?

Britney Spears, who just recently wrapped a cameo appearance on an episode of "Glee" dedicated to her and her music, took a break from it all recently to recline and relax in the Hawaiian sunshine. The yellow-haired/yellow-bikini'd Britney was in the island paradise with her boyfriend, Jason Trawick.

Britney Spears' episode of "Glee," (titled "Brittany/Britney") will air on September 28. In the meantime, the pop superstar seems to content to just kick back and be fabulous. Check out her "Stronger" video, below.

Yesterday, Katy Perry's new album, Teenage Dream, came out and there was joy and happiness all across the candy-covered land. To celebrate this, and to increase the already abundant amount of joy and happiness Katy's perfect pop provides, Katy appeared on "The Late Show With David Letterman" and proceeded to play a nearly 45-minute-long set, broadcast out to the world wide web.

It was a pretty great live gig, with Katy Perry obviously in top spirits, decked out in all white, with smoke machines a-smokin' and prop lollipops in tow. Katy opened with a pounding version of "Hot N Cold," and then played a moody take on "I Kissed A Girl," before bringing down the house with "Teenage Dream."

Check out the performance below. Teenage Dream is out now.

Celebrities...they're just likes us. By which I mean, this celebrity, John Mayer, is just like me, insomuch as he too does not get much lift on his jump shot.

This morning's Star Spotting found Beyonce and Jay-Z relaxing on a yacht. But not all celebs are taking it so easy. Some are getting themselves into playing shape, one contested jumper at a time, which is exactly what we see John Mayer doing above.

In the above photo, John Mayer's apparently working out with his personal trainer and polishing his mid-range game in the process. I have to say, upon looking at another shot from the same sporty scene...

Mayer certainly seems like one of those cats who's a little more concerned with how he looks than how he plays. Just saying. P.S. nice mock-turtle tank top, bro.

When John Mayer's not balling out of control, he's touring the West Coast. Check out dates here and watch the Mayer's "Who Says" video, below.

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride? Not our Britney Spears. Britney took another (albeit short, albeit non-existent) trip down the aisle in Japanese magazine Pop, which features Britney Spears on their September issue, photographed by Todd Cole and art directed by Takashi Murakami, which should blow your mind if you know his work.

Check out Britney as a Japanese bride in Pop here. It's second only to our other favorite Britney-as-bride moment -- Britney as Madonna's bride (in a kinda "Big Love"-esque polygamist situation where Christina Aguilera was the other bride) at the 2003 MTV VMAs.

Will the 2010 MTV VMAs have more shocking moments? You'll have to watch and see! Don't miss the 2010 MTV VMAs live from Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12, at 9/8c!

Ted Leo makes pretty serious music; it's politically-charged, socially-conscious, punk-power-pop that calls to mind Thin Lizzy (ask your dad), Elvis Costello (ask your older brother) and The Jam (ask either of them). But that doesn't mean the Jersey boy isn't without a sense of humor.

After slugging it out for years in the punk rock trenches, Ted Leo uses his hilarious new video for his song "Bottled In Cork" (taken from his great Brutalist Bricks album) as a platform to take some shots at one of punk rock's biggest ever successes, Green Day.

"Bottled In Cork" features comedian Paul F. Tompkins (who you might remember as the one-time host for Vh1's "Best Week Ever") as musical theater producer Reginald Van Voorst, who takes Ted and his band, The Pharmacists, and turns them into Broadway stars.

The entire thing culminates in a stage performance that playfully mocks the musical theater adaption of Green Day's punk rock opera American Idiot.

Check out the video below. Brutalist Bricks is out now.

Yesterday, when we posted a Star Spotting photo of The Pretty Reckless frontwoman and "Gossip Girl" star Taylor Momsen leaving BBC's Radio 1, we kinda wondered what she got up to inside the studio.

Radio 1 often has artists drop by to perform informal, off-the-cuff cover versions of songs, and the results can often be stellar. Just see Gaslight Anthem's cover of Kelly Clarkson's "I Do Not Hook Up," for evidence.

Well it turns out off-the-cuff, informal covering of songs is exactly what Taylor Momsen was getting up to, as Taylor and her Pretty Reckless band ate Ben Phillips covered The XX's "Islands" and interpolated that sultry cut with Rihanna's chorus from Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie."

Dizzying, right? Real talk: TayMo actually nails it, finding the stranded, heartbroken throughline between the two songs. It's kind of surprising that Momsen included Rihanna's hook into her performance, considering she recently told SPIN Magazine, "People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred. Now Rihanna's wearing f---ing leather jackets, and it's really annoying."

I guess Taylor got over it! Teenagers! So temperamental! Check out the song below.
