Well slap me in the face and call me Kierkegaard! Mike Posner is a modern-day philosopher! You might not have guessed by listening to his super-pleasant but not world-view-shattering debut album 31 Minutes To Take Off, or his delicious slice of R&B-laced hip-pop, "Cooler Than Me," but the dude is something of a deep thinker.
Just take this Buzzworthy interview, in which Posner ponders the various perspectives through which people view the world. This idea greatly informed his video for "Cooler Than Me," as we hear Posner give a rather articulate explanation for the clip's meaning.
In case you were still doubting dude's brainiac credentials, Posner reveals he was a Sociology major at Duke University and talks about how his academic background informs his music.
Don't worry, it's not all chin-scratching and deep thinking. Mike also shares a story about unwittingly eating raw meat when producer Benny Blanco ordered him a dish of steak tartar.
Check out Mike Posner's MTV interview, as well as Mike's "Cooler Than Me" clip, below. 31 Minutes To Take Off is out now.

It might sound weird to say that 23-year-old Uffie was ahead of her time, but in a way, that's exactly what she was. The Miami-born, globe-trotting singer (she was raised in Hong Kong and resides now in Paris) made an underground splash in 2006 with her single, "Pop The Glock." It was a pretty fresh combination of French scuzz-dance (think Justice), old school hip-hop and bratty pop. And it pretty much predicted the likes of Ke$ha (who M.I.A. once accused of ripping off Uffie).
But after "Pop The Glock" popped, Uffie went through a divorce, had a kid, and took some time off. Now she's back with a new album -- Sex Dreams And Denim Jeans -- and new single and video for "ADD SUV."
"ADD SUV" is a dark, chilling song, filled with images of "Ritalin-filled debutantes." It's a far more subtle and mature track than her previous work, distancing herself from the artists who may, or may not have copied her style.
The video, directed Nathalie Canguilhem, is equally enigmatic; mixing footage of various characters driving cool, classic cars around a nondescript city. One of these characters is Pharrell Williams, who drops a verse about seeing "everything in neon."
Check out the video below. Uffie's long-awaited Sex Dreams And Denim Jeans album is out now.

The Brandon Flowers solo train makes another stop with the provocatively titled "Swallow It." Don't worry, it's far, far more tame than the Eazy-E song its title calls to mind (I suppose that goes without saying), but it's sort of a weird track, nonetheless.
Taken from his upcoming solo debut, Flamingo, "Swallow It" is even more restrained and delicate than the previous Flowers single, "Crossfire." Flowers' band The Killers are known for their cathartic, metaphysical moments, the "I got soul, but I'm not a soldier" moments, if you will. But so far, what we've heard from Flowers' solo material is much more meditative.
"Swallow It" reads like an advice letter, full of flowery language about being an "advocate of joy," as the song's narrator suggest that we all slow down and take things as they come. The track, musically, is a prancing piece of synth-string-laden, mid-tempo pop.
Check out Brandon Flowers' new song, "Swallow It," below. Flamingo is out September 6th.

I know what you did this summer. You probably worked your butt off for the man, sweated through a miserable summer in a city that smelled like hot garbage, scrimped and saved your nickels and dimes to go on a vacation which was really just a glorified long weekend, only to spend most of it in traffic or sunburned.
Well, above is how the other half lives, my proletariat brothers and sisters. I was going to make a joke about how Jay-Z and Beyonce should be the new Clark and Ellen Griswold's and how they should make a "National Lampoon's Vacation" movie together. But it would be wild boring, wouldn't it?
Imagine the scene above; our main characters on a yacht somewhere in Italy. Bey is looking over the side of the deck, probably saying, "Ooh, look: a sea bass. We should put that on skewers and eat that!" And Jay is like, "I can't believe you mad dogged me into wearing these shorts."
Not exactly comedy or dramatic gold is it? Who am I kidding. I'm just hungry for sea bass skewers.
Jay-Z and Beyonce have no planned releases or tours to tell you about. They're "Crazy In Love," and they're on a boat. Deal with it.

Earlier this month, synth-happy indie rockers Neon Indian starred in MTV.com's brand-new music series, "Live In NYC." And now we've cut a few select cuts from the show.
The laid-back, fuzzed-out Texas band played their veritable anthem, "Terminally Chill," ran through the breezy song, "Deadbeat Summer," got down with their "Ephemeral Artery" and more.
Watch Neon Indian's "Live IN NYC" performance, and check out interviews and photos from the show.

OMGLEE! Check out a solid quarter of the "Glee" cast -- Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, and Heather Morris at the Beverly Center Macy's in Los Angeles -- showing off Macy's official "Glee" merchandise. I'm kinda partial to Heather's "All You Need Is Glee" grey tee myself.
The "Glee" clothing line hits stores this fall, and all of the "Glee" fashion line is priced at un-"Glee"-lievable (har!) $19.99 to $34.99. Now as much as I sweat Rachel Berry and Emma Pillsbury's wardrobes (SO MUCH MARC JACOBS!), a McKinley High tee might be a bit much for me. What about you? Would you wear pieces from the "Glee" fashion line?

Did Katy Perry have dreams of being a child model? This glamour shot photo of l'il Katy certainly looks like it. Above is a pretty priceless picture of an adorable, young (if precocious looking) Katy Perry, glamming it up for the cameras. Katy Perry Tweeted the photo with the following caveat: "grandma brought this one out of the closet today."
A lot to process here in this photo of young Katy Perry: the Barbie hat, the blonde hair, the fact that Katy Perry's eyes (which she sort of shares with Zooey Deschanel) are just as, I don't know, Katy-Perry-tastic as they are now.
Katy Perry posted this photo days before the release of her highly-anticipated Teenage Dream album, packed with hits-to-be. When the photo was taken, she probably couldn't have guessed at the fame and fortune and British fiance she would later have, but you get the feeling that lil' tyke knew something big was in store for her. Just look at the way she's rocking that hat!
Teenage Dream is out tomorrow. Check out the "Teenage Dream" video for the title track below.

If you're anything like me, you were pretty amazed at Mark Ronson's "Bang Bang Bang" video. And if you're anything like me, you were left wondering about the identity of the lady vocalist with the crazy shades and awesome hairdo.
That was Amanda Warner, one half of the awesome electro-pop duo MNDR. Together with her partner, Pete Wade, Warner produces minimal, primal dance music, calling to mind everything from La Roux, to Bat For Lashes to Bjork to the Pet Shop Boys.
MNDR's released two EPs, the best of which is EPE, featuring the haunting "I Go Away" and the ecstatic "Jump In." They're currently working on their debut album, due out sometime in early 2011. If you happen to be in Hollywood tonight (August 23rd) they're playing. And if you're in the Big Apple you can see them on the 30th.
Check out music and tour dates over at MNDR's MySpace page.

It seemed like Enrique Iglesias had stepped back from the limelight there for a while. Could you blame him? That is one very attractive dude. He could probably just kick it in a hammock somewhere in or around Ibiza and just shout, "I'm Enrique Iglesias! I'm attractive!" All while he counts that "Bailamos" money.
But Enrique's back on his grind musically speaking,, owning the clubs with his Pitbull-assisted "Jersey Shore" anthem, "I Like It," which happens to be the lead single from his most recent album, Euphoria.
In the Buzzworthy interview below, Iglesias talks about where he'd be without music. He also details the collaborative aspect of Euphoria -- which features Akon, Usher and Wisin y Yandel -- and the strange and weird act of Googling himself, and the spurious things he finds on blogs.
Check out Enrique Iglesias' interview, as well as the video for "I Like It," both below. Euphoria is out now.
