With Labor Day in the rearview mirror, summer is officially over. But if you're still looking for something to keep that sunny, sandy feeling going, may we humbly suggest the awesome California band Wavves, their awesome album, King Of The Beach, and yes, their AWESOME newish video for their track "Post Acid."
Led by volatile skate-rat/guitarist/singer Nathan Williams, Wavves make fuzzed out, feedback-drenched rock that will appeal to the early Green Day/Blink 182 fan inside of your indie heart. We're talking big riffs and shout-along choruses, played with carefree abandon.
This video for "Post Acid" pretty much sums up Wavves' whole aesthetic. After a visually screwed and chopped intro featuring onetime MTV presenter/news correspondent John Norris, we get a delightfully tweaked story about an alien who arrives via UFO and spends the day with the band, hanging out, skating, partying and playing a show. It's an awesome, skate-punk take on "E.T."
Wavves' King Of The Beach album is out now. Watch their video for "Post Acid," below (WARNING: FEATURES SOME MILD, POSSIBLY NSFW PARTYING, ALBEIT BY AN ALIEN.)
