After a long night of grand entrances, costumes changes and multiple trips to the 2010 MTV VMAs stage, where she collected no less than eight awards, Lady Gaga finally toppled over, under the weight of what was a momentous evening for her.
This Twitpic, which Gaga posted at about 1 a.m. PT, came with the following words: "Too much poetry tonight, + grateful words to say. But u love u, + I love I, + we were #bornthisway."
It was clearly an emotional evening for Lady Gaga. And given the way she went out, singing part of the title track of her new album, Born This Way, you can call it the end of one chapter of her career and the beginning of another.
Even with all of the chatter about Kanye West and Taylor Swift, this was, really, Gaga's night, one where we all paid homage to everything she accomplished, musically and visually, with her Fame and Fame Monster releases. And now, with Born This Way, it looks like we're in for another crazy ride.
