If you're My Chemical Romance and you've got to follow up the goth-glam-punk rock opera that was The Black Parade, what's your next step? Well, the New Jersey band went back to the lab and is coming back with a new My Chemical Romance album, the awesomely titled Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. And we've got your first peek at "Art Is The Weapon" right here.
Feast your ears on "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)," the first single from Danger Days. The song begins with a radio DJ's rant, promising something "louder than God's revolver, and twice as shiny." And he ain't lying. "Na Na Na" is a breakneck rush, like a sped-up Queen song played by ADD-addled teens.
The very cool attendant "Art Is The Weapon" video, which serves as something of a trailer for the album, is equally stunning. My Chemical Romance seems to have ditched the black-and-white palette and WWII costumes of The Black Parade and turned themselves into a retro-futuristic motorcycle gang, running around the desert shooting lasers at masked villains. It's something like "Easy Rider" meets "Dark Knight."
Watch My Chemical Romance's "Art Is The Weapon" trailer and listen to a snippet of My Chemical Romance's "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)" below. Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys is coming soon.
