Coming from an album titled Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys you might expect "Na Na Na" to be full of the same operatic pomp and circumstance that inhabited much of My Chemical Romance's material from The Black Parade.
However, "Na Na Na," which we heard a snippet of when we posted about the band's "Art Is A Weapon" trailer a few days ago, is something of a hybrid of the band's punk-rock origins and art-rock recent past.
Unlike some of their songs from The Black Parade, "Na Na Na..." gets right to the point, exploding out of the gate with an absolutely ferocious riff that could have been ripped right off of an old Stooges album. Singer Gerard Way sounds in fine form, going toe to toe with the guitars, howling about drugs, running from the law and a lot of other paranoid, hyperactive stuff that is buried under the repeated chorus of "na na nas."
If the song strikes a chord with you, you might want to wear you allegiance to it; so MCR have already made "Na Na Na..." T-shirts for you to proudly sport. My Chemical Romance's Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys is out soon.
