The dude in the above picture, the one with the oh-so-perfectly ripped and distressed jeans, Ed Hardy-esque T-shirt, Indiana Jones Halloween costume hat and Sunday afternoon kung-fu matinee movie mustache... That guy is Axl Rose. And he was once the coolest man in the world.
Look, we're not dissing Axl. He probably doesn't spend much time keeping up with current fashions. And even if he did, I doubt it would matter much to him. But it is sort of weird to see this guy who, more or less, ruled the world during Guns N' Roses' '80s run, now relegated to dressing like a dude you would avoid on a city bus.
I suppose we should just be happy that the photo, taken at Manchester's Evening News Arena, was snapped at all. Axl and his reconstituted Guns lineup are never a sure bet when it comes to actually arriving and performing.
