Man, bullies are getting a lot of headlines these days. Between the crazy story of Justin Bieber being picked on at laser tag to the outpouring of videos from the It Gets Better and Love Is Louder initiatives, bullying has become an important topic on the country's collective conscience.
And now, tossing her hat in the proverbial ring, we get this new Taylor Swift song, "Mean." Taken from her upcoming album Speak Now, "Mean" begins with a charming and chiming banjo line as Taylor sings about her antagonist, who uses words like knives.
Taylor's new song, "Mean," adds some acoustic guitar and gorgeous harmonies as Taylor deals a verbal retort to her tormentor: "All you're ever gonna be is mean." If there's one thing Taylor Swift knows how to do, it's tell off people who have done her wrong--in the politest but most direct way possible. And "Mean" is no exception.
Taylor Swift's Speak Now is out Oct. 25. Don't miss Taylor Swift's global album release event in New York. MTV.com will be streaming the event live starting at 7pm/6c on Oct. 25.
