Congrats to our girl Christina Aguilera for being honored with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a huge milestone for any artist, and the "Beautiful" singer (and songwriter, actress, and director) definitely deserves it. Christina has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, received five Grammy awards and is the only artist under 30 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest singers of all time. (Cue Kanye West: OF ALL TIME!!)
Hooray, Christina Aguilera! But we can think of a few more Buzzworthy faves that might deserve their own star as well. After all, almost 2,500 stars line the Hollywood Walk of Fame--what's eight more?
1. Kanye West --The man, the myth, the legend. Kanye was always big, ever since he was a College Dropout, but his upcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is said to be the one that will take him over the top. (If Yeezy can't get a star, can his Twitter feed get one at least?)
2. Justin Bieber -- Speaking of Twitter, the "Somebody To Love" singer is so popular that 3 percent of all Twitter traffic is about him. That's a lot of 140 character messages, people. And Justin's the biggest star to ever come out of YouTube, so throw him some sidewalk.
3. Lonely Island -- What do you mean, "Who's Lonely Island?" Duh, Andy Samberg's comedy troupe only wrote some of the greatest songs ever, including "I'm On A Boat," "J*** In My Pants" and the American classic, "D*** In A Box." (NSFW!)
4. Lady Gaga -- Not many 24-year-olds can call themselves a "pop icon." From Billboard to Time to Forbes, the "Telephone" singer is on every list known to man. And could you imagine the outfit Gaga would wear to the star ceremony?!
5. Beyoncé -- Beyoncé's former group, Destiny's Child, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame back in 2006, but we say it's about time Bey gets her own. Um, not sure if the Hollywood Walk of Fame people saw a little video by the name of "Single Ladies." We know Kanye would agree...
6. Antoine Dodson -- WELL, OBVIOUSLY this YouTube sensation and Auto-Tune phenomenon needs a place in Hollywood history. The "Bed Intruder" singer (songwriter?) became America's unlikely sweetheart after his rant on the local news went viral. RUN AND TELL DAT.
7. Nicki Minaj -- It seems like there's never been as much excitement about a debut album as there has been for Nicki's upcoming Pink Friday. And if her verse in "Monster" doesn't blow you out of the water, maybe your hearing aid is too low.
8. Waka Flocka Flame -- Not sure how happy others in the crunk genre would be about Waka receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as "O Let's Do It" isn't exactly a masterpiece. But it would at least be fun to take pictures next to Waka Flocka on the Waka Flocka Fame.
