The first video from Pete Wentz's side project, Black Cards, has hit the Internet, and it's running a little low on Pete Wentz. Fall Out Boy fans looking for the usual FOB video are in for something pretty different.
Black Cards' new video for "Club Called Heaven" features just a little bit of Pete but a whole lot of Black Cards singer Bebe Rexha, in a black-and-white, old time-y video that, according to the band, "pays homage to a classic film." Can you guys guess which one it is?
In the video, Pete Wentz plays the getaway driver while Bebe Rexha plays his accomplice after a bank robbery gone awry. (They're much better at being outlaws than Rihanna and Shy Ronnie.) Bebe escapes the car, and that's when things get weird--there's some mad scientist action, a random lady getting poisoned and a disfigured Frankenstein that saves the day before the laboratory is set ablaze. And if you look really quick, there's Pete Wentz again.
The fun, adventurous video for "Club Called Heaven" pairs perfectly with the party-like, Jamaican sounds of the song. "Club Called Heaven" has a bit of a Rock Steady-era No Doubt vibe to it, which makes sense as both bands are said to have drawn inspiration from classic reggae jams. We dig.
