I bet when No Doubt started out as some skate rat ska punks in Orange County, Los Angeles, they never thought that one day they'd have to put on their finest duds, pledge allegiance to the United States of America and pay tribute to one the greatest songwriters in pop music history. But that's exactly what they've done.
The Kennedy Center Honors were broadcast last night, and Gwen Stefani and Co. paid tribute to Beatles legend Paul McCartney. No Doubt performed the McCartney/Lennon-penned Beatles classics "Hello, Goodbye" and "Penny Lane" to an audience that included the first family and Kennedy Center honorees Oprah Winfrey, Paul McCartney, Merle Haggard and choreographer Bill T. Jones.
Congrats to all those folks for their lifetimes full of achievements. But congrats to Gwen Stefani, as well, who swagged out at what was likely a black-tie-only affair by wearing a blindingly beautiful, yellow silk Prada dress to the event.
