The success of "Glee" aside, a cappella singing is still kind of... well, dorky. Sorry! Dorky but adorable in the way a basket of basset hounds is both dorky and adorable. That said, former Fall Out Boy, Patrick Stump, may have finally made believers out of us with the below video.
This is an absolutely thrilling clip featuring a soul-punked Stump going all types of a cappella/one-man band on a breakneck revue of hits. Accompanied by loops of his own voice, Stump touches on Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' "Empire State Of Mind," Eminem and Rihanna's "Love The Way You Lie," B.o.B. and Bruno Mars' "Nothin' On You," Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" and Cee Lo's "F*** You" (the fully cursed out/non Gwyneth Paltrow version).
The results are check-plus-straight-A's-awesome. Don't get us wrong, the inherent dorkiness of singing a cappella is still there, but it's Stump total and complete embrace of said dorkiness (e.g. WHITE BOY BEATBOXING) that makes it something special.
Check out Patrick Stump's awesome a cappella video below. Warning: NSFW Language (thanks, Cee Lo!).
