Even though Avril Lavigne is 26 years old, she still hasn't shed her punky teenage reputation. And in the new video for her punky anthem "What The Hell," she isn't growing up any quicker.
Which is totally fine by us. We actually prefer juvenile Avril to soft and serious Avril. But in "What The Hell," the juvenile turns into a juvenile delinquent.
For those who haven't carefully inspected the lyrics to "What The Hell," the song is about a good girl gone bad who just wants to mess around. There's a lot of messing around in the clip, which begins with Avril kicking a lover-boy out of her apartment, spraying on a copious amount of perfume (Black Star, natch) and hitting the streets to look for trouble.
Trouble is what she finds, as she proceeds to steal a cab (we're surprised they couldn't smell her coming!), drive recklessly, play some pick-up basketball and (more or less) shoplift, all while this doe-eyed dude follows her around.
It's a pretty funny, charming clip, though we feel compelled to mention you should try very little of this at home. Especially the part where she puts on too much perfume.
"What The Hell" is taken from Avril Lavigne's Goodbye Lullabye album, which is due out March 2.
