Jay-Z and Kanye West's "H.A.M." is, more or less, about how you shouldn't waste your life trying to mess with those guys because they go... hard as a bad word starting with "m." This is nonfiction, people. These guys really do go "H.A.M." They shop for goblets and conference tables and buy chunks of pro sports franchises and live life to the fullest. But just because you aren't a marquee rapper doesn't mean you can't go H.A.M. too. H.A.M. is a feeling. It's a way of being. It's a lifestyle choice. For instance, here are some things, we are going H.A.M. on, and they won't cost you a thing to enjoy.
.) Kanye West's "All Of The Lights" as performed by the Portland Cello Project: Found through The Awl publisher David Cho's Tumblr, this orchestral rendition of the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy centerpiece will pretty much bring your day to a teary-eyed, breathtaking halt.
.) Patrick Stump's a cappella Michael Jackson medley: We went pretty H.A.M. over Patrick Stump's incredible vox-only medley of Grammy-nominated singles, but this lap through the King Of Pop's hits takes, well, it takes the HAM, people. Props to Stump for taking on "Man In The Mirror," too.
.) Tyga, featuring Pharrell, Snoop Dogg and Game, "Really Raw": Really raw. No kidding. This might be one of the slickest, minimal-but-deadly Neptunes beats since Snoop's "Drop It While It's Hot." And, as Nah Right's Nation points out, Pharrell really is talking reckless on this song.
.) Snow: Winter is awesome. Especially this one where the snow from December still hasn't melted and everyday something meteorologically unfathomable happens... like thunder, snow or ice rain. And everybody knows the easiest ways to look cool are to be dressed like Viggo Mortensen in "The Road" and constantly be on the verge of slipping and busting your backside. Psych. Snow and winter suck. But! It does produce weatherman meltdowns like this.
.) Yankee Candles: Though not as much as this kid.
