So maybe Justin Bieber didn’t win a Grammy. That’s OK. 2010 was still a banner year for the Biebs, and let’s not forget the impressive No. 2 opening of “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D” this weekend. I know I won’t forget. Because I saw it! And I’m going to review it! Just for you! Happy Valentine’s Day!
I went to the 7:45 p.m. showing of “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D,” and I was possibly a tad out of place. Yes, I am an adult woman, and yes, I went with an adult woman friend, and yes, we went on opening day, and yes, we were the oldest childless women there, and yes, we bought our tickets in advance online. Now that you know what you’re working with, take this review in stride.
YOU GUYS!!!! IT WAS AMAZING! “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D” is shot documentary style, and it highlights the tumultuous days leading up to Justin Bieber’s sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden in 2010, while 3D footage from various concerts are woven throughout. The movie walks you through Justin’s childhood in Stratford, Ontario, and recalls Justin’s rise to fame, from the moments he was first discovered on YouTube to singing in front of Usher. The entire audience of middle-schoolers and me sang along to every song, and screamed with delight at every shirtless Bieber shot (there are many).

Here are a few key points about “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D” that you need to know before you buy your tickets and a jumbo bag of popcorn:
+ Mini Bieber: Justin Bieber as a cute toddler > any other toddler ever. It’s just a fact!
+ Usher cameos: I’ll let Sophie B. Hawkins do the talking for me.
+ Justin Bieber’s vocal coach: This woman steals the show! So fun to watch, and it’s really sweet to see how much she cares about Justin. Anyone know what her hieroglyphics necklace said?
+ Six words: Slow. Motion. 3D. Hair. Shaking. Scene.
You will laugh, you will cry, and you will wonder what being at the opening day screening of “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D” means about the trajectory your life. Overall, JB gets an A. Go see it!
