We're just going to say it -- Cee Lo's new video for his song "Bodies" off of his latest album The Lady Killer is weird. It's totally cool and you can't take your eyes off of it, but it's also weird. This isn't the fun-loving, multicolored Cee Lo we've all come to know and love -- this Cee Lo is dark and mysterious. Oh, and a murderer.
Shot in "Jankyvision" (something that must mean "animated moving photos"), Cee Lo's "Bodies" starts out with a bang: The opening shot is of a statue of a bald eagle dressed as Buddha playing the drums above a fireplace. (We don't know.) The video, which guest stars Kerry Washington and Janelle MonĂ¡e, continues down a rabbit hole of creepiness -- monkeys playing guitars, tigers jumping through flaming hoops, etc. And then Karl Lagerfeld shows up and turns into a switchblade. And then they flash the H&M logo. (Again, we don't know.) All the meanwhile, Cee Lo's gallivanting around town collecting shoes from women he's murdering. I guess "F*** You" just wasn't a strong enough message.
"Bodies" definitely has your daily dose of bizarre covered, but the video is also really unique. The animation is something we haven't really seen before, and as always, it left us anticipating the next video from Cee Lo.
