Throughout the month of March, MTV is celebrating Indie Music Month with video premieres from indie artists and artists who exude the spirit of underground, DIY, and up-and-coming music. And to kick things off, we have a pretty racy party anthem from Bay Area electro-rapper Wallpaper.
Wallpaper. is the name under which multi-instrumentalist/MC Eric Frederic records and performs. Walking the fine line between satire and homage, Wallpaper. makes booty-bouncing, bass-heavy electro rap tunes, rooted in the Bay Area's rich hip-hop tradition (think Too Short and E-40).
In his "#Stupidfacedd" video, Frederic serves as a debauched tour guide through a crazy night. Drinks get spilled, toes get stepped on and a good time is had by all.
Directed by Jason Zada, the "#Stupidfacedd" video is particularly well-crafted and full of a kind of drunken energy. You should be warned, though: Some of the imagery is not for the faint of heart.
