BREAKING NEWS! Rihanna looks stunning in yet another photograph. The "S&M" singer is sporting a softer, more romantic look on the Vogue April 2011 cover. We don't know about you guys, but we're kind of picking up a little Ariel from "The Little Mermaid" vibe, mixed with just the right amount of Jessica Rabbit. In other words: perfection.
We all know that Rihanna can pretty much do anything ever, but extra props to her for being one of the few women of color to grace the cover of American Vogue. The magazine has come under fire for not featuring ethnically diverse cover models frequently enough, though Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Halle Berry, Oprah Winfrey and Naomi Campbell have all received the cover treatment.
Still, we're absolutely thrilled to see our oftentimes racy girl pushing boundaries in more ways than one. Rihanna gets to show off her gentler side (no whips in sight!) while Vogue works toward showcasing a different standard of beauty. Win-win.
Also, we have to mention that the magazine is Vogue's 10th Annual Shape Issue, and as you can tell by that beautiful, body-hugging Chanel number on Rihanna, it's pretty obvious that they picked the perfect person for the job. As the great poet Justin Timberlake once said, "Damn, girl."
The April issue of Vogue hits newsstands at the end of March.
