As part of MTV's Indie Music Month, we're premiering videos from some of the most exciting artists in the indie music scene. Kicking off our final week of video premieres, we have Warped Tour vets Unwritten Law and their anthemic new single, "Starships And Apocalypse." Put your moshing caps on for this one, folks.

"Starships And Apocalypse" is primarily a performance video, taking place on the well-lit stage of what looks to be the seediest, most bedraggled underground club ever. A very shirtless Scott Russo belts out "Take my hand, off we go / to La la land," from behind a pair of pitch-black Wayfarers. The rest of Unwritten Law thrashes dutifully around him.

The song "Starships And Apocalypse" is about a fast-talking woman who knows just the right ways to lose control, and we occasionally catch glimpses of this femme fatale -- a mysterious blonde with a penchant for leather -- as she writhes beneath a spotlight. Coupled with Russo's partial nudity, the sexiness is off the charts here.

Unwritten Law's sixth studio album, Swan, on which "Starships And Apocalypse" appears, is due out tomorrow, March 29.

You. Guys. Look at Britney Spears. Was this was worth waiting for? Of course it was. LOOK at her! LOOK at Britney! There's never been a finer specimen of Britney Spears than the Britney Spears who performed LIVE at Rain nightclub at the Palms Casino and Resort in Las Vegas on Friday night. Britney in an OUTRAGEOUS black Latex bodysuit with naughty-girl whip-stitched red trim? Light-up boobs Britney? Perfect blond hair? You can't ask for a better Britney than that. You can't script that. You can barely dream that.

Britney kicked off her 45-minute, three-song set (three songs isn't much, but it's better than no songs, right?) with "Hold It Against Me" before launching into "The Big Fat Bass" and "Till The World Ends" (my personal favorite). DJ Pauly D was there, and 1500 of Britney's most devout disciples packed the Vegas hotspot as she brought Femme Fatale, which is already being heralded as her best album yet, to life. (Everyone else in the free world was desperately hitting refresh on Twitter for Twitvids and hysterically searching for bootleg YouTube fan videos.

This was her first public performance since her 2009 "Circus" tour. Was it worth waiting that long to see Britney emerge from a giant speaker dressed as a dominatrix? Come on, son. Oh, and BTW, Britney on an electric chair? While that's probably not a political statement, it's a seriously bad-ass prop, and, if you'll allow me to go out on a limb, both a metaphor for her electric energy and the resurrection of her career. This isn't a pop princess. This is the queen on her throne.

As part of MTV's Indie Music Month, we're premiering videos from some of the most exciting artists in the indie music scene. Today's video is "Mountaineer" by White Sea, the solo project of singer Morgan Kibby, whose winsome voice first hypnotized the audiences of French electronic dream-pop outfit M83. After three years touring with the group, Kibby took time on her own to record 2010's This Frontier EP, an ambitious five-song debut that, in its modest run-time, still manages to range from pulsating dance tracks to synth-infused art rock. And her "Mountaineer" falls squarely in the latter category.

Taking a cue from the song's delicately chanted lyrics, "It's a teen dream," the video spies Kibby and her band of friends, ostensibly influenced by an Urban Outfitters catalog, on a vaguely Californian cliffside overlooking the beach. During a day of teenage revelry, the kids lay in the grass, splash about in the waves and shred at a skate park before rounding out the night, sparklers in hand, at a sandy bonfire. Sigh. Summer? Please get here now, OK?

As part of MTV's Indie Music Month, we're premiering videos from some of the most exciting artists in the indie music scene. And to kick off the weekend, we've got "One Less Heart To Break" from Long Island pop-punk quintet Patent Pending.

Patent Pending -- whose energetic and infectious sound falls right in line with that of their Warped Tour brethren All Time Low and Gym Class Heroes -- are currently touring the East Coast in support of their album/DVD combo I'm Not Alone. Singer Joe Ragosta describes "One Less Heart To Break" as "easily the most serious song" he's ever written.

"One Less Heart To Break" was written several years ago after the band lost a close friend to suicide. The accompanying video depicts the heartbreak felt by an entire community when a life is lost. It's a moving musical tribute to their departed friend, a wishful memory, a cautionary tale, and a reminder to those in need to reach out. The video concludes with the simple yet powerful words "you are not alone" and the band's thoughtful mention of the life-affirming online community To Write Love On Her Arms, a nonprofit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.

Panic! At The Disco's "The Ballad Of Mona Lisa," off their Vices & Virtues album, is a harmonic, hard-driving, plucky-percussive salute to the band's past, with a highly theatrical steampunk video that only heightens the single's curious dramatics. But on today's episode of "The Seven," Panic! made it very clear that even without top hats, goggles and corsets tied tight, "The Ballad Of Mona Lisa" was made for the stage, as the band passionately ripped through a menacing version live on MTV.

Well, not really. Actually, Miley Cyrus proved that she's just like us (right, tabloids?), the many drivers across this great country whose vehicles guzzle gas and make us feel bad about our enormous carbon footprints. As much as we love Al Gore's message, we realize that driving a car -- especially in Los Angeles -- is a necessary evil, and we don't expect to see Miley start parading around Hollywood on a unicycle anytime soon.

But imagine that! Miley Cyrus on a unicycle! Or, better yet, a set of Power Wheels! OMG, this is really messed up, but how amazing would it be if Miley started some sort of movement where celebs promoted "alternative means of transportation" to promote environmental awareness by trading in her car for a set of Power Wheels? You know you wouldn't be able to turn your head if, out of nowhere, Miley and, like, Tom Hanks and Kim Kardashian started showing up in magazines and on blogs stuffing their bodies into tiny Jeeps custom-made for 6-year-olds? THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!

...Wow. OK, sorry. Clearly got carried away there for a second. Miley is a grown-up! Miley should drive a grown-up car like everybody else. We'll just keep this stupid fantasy to ourselves.

Um, any chance you guys know where we could buy a sweet set of Power Wheels?

Despite being born in the '90s, 18-year-old Sky Ferreira seems to know that the best party is wherever there's '80s music playing. Her song "Sex Rules" is a throwback to everyone's favorite neon decade of yore, and like it or not, it'll be stuck in your head after just one listen.

In case you're one of two people (the other one being me) who thought a song called "Sex Rules" would be about weird rules for sex, you're wrong. Sky Ferreira is young, legal and simply expressing her sexuality -- she literally means "sex rules." You know, like you or I might say, "These nachos rule," or like Ox from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure said, "San Dimas High School football rules!" ('80s reference!)

Previously on "17," we heard Sky Ferreira get all dark-disco on us, but on "Sex Rules," think super early Madonna mixed with 21st-century synthpop (Chromeo, Robyn, La Roux). It's fun, synth-y, sexy pop music. "I think you mean PROTECTED sexy pop music!!!!" -- Everyone's mom

Jessie J -- we told you about her back in January -- wrote a song called "Being Britney" for Britney Spears' upcoming album, Femme Fatale. Sadly, it didn't make it onto the album, which has already leaked virtually every song and photo. After tweeting that she was writing the song, blogger types ran with the story, cementing the notion that British import Jessie J (whose star is already on the rise with her upcoming album Who You Are, and its lead singles "Do It Like A Dude" and "Price Tag") had made the cut, although it's never quite that simple, she explains.

"To have the opportunity to write a song for [Britney] is incredible," Jessie J told MTV. "As a songwriter, I'm still taking baby steps. You have to write 10 songs to get one good one and, realistically, I don't have time to write 10."

Considering the fact that Jessie J penned the delightfully inescapable "Party In The U.S.A" for Miley Cyrus, chances are the lost Britney song would've been a hit. In fact, Jessie J may try to pitch the song to someone else, although, admittedly, it would be kind of weird if, say, Ke$ha sang a a song about "being Britney." Whatever. We'd still be into it.

Is there any part of Scandinavia that doesn't breed cute, talented pop vocalists? Earlier this week, we told you about Teddybears' "Cardiac Arrest" featuring the irresistible Swedish singer Robyn. Now, we're going a little south to Denmark for a chat with Nanna Øland Fabricius (but you can call her Oh Land).

The former Royal Danish Ballet student and daughter of an opera singer released her first EP last year, and her shimmering, whimsical pop and model-chic had critics drooling from the first note. With the recent release of her self-titled debut album, Oh Land is officially set to explode.

Splitting the difference between your new hipster pop crush and Bjork-esque eccentricity, Oh Land recently moved to Brooklyn and has been busy dazzling audiences with a live show she describes as "Mary Poppins on acid." We caught her last year and can attest to this. Expect balloons. Lots and lots of balloons.

Check out MTV.com's new Oh Land interviews, where she discusses "mentally moving" to Brooklyn years before actually doing it, how 10 years of dancing affected her visual aesthetic and why her past experiences make her music difficult to describe. That last one's our job, Oh Land. Just keep making good music, and we'll be good.
