The intro says it all: "We're gonna move from Miami to Atlanti all the way to Bammy." Appropriately and succinctly, the song is called "It's a Party," and it's the latest collaboration between Alabama MC Yelawolf and Atlanta MC/singer B.O.B.
The Jim Jonsin-produced song, as you might imagine by its name, features both rappers extolling the virtues of, well, partying. With a chanted "Ohhhhh, it's a party" hook and dark, bouncy beat, this is a pure celebratory record. B.O.B., for his part, though, does get religious when talking about a particular female butt he admires, observing that "God must like big booties too or else they wouldn't exist." We could have a theological symposium on that line alone.
This is the time when "Song of the Summer" candidates start to emerge, and, with the release of Frankmusik's "Do It in the AM" featuring Far East Movement last week, will Yelawolf and B.O.B. claim the throne with this track?
B.O.B. dropped his long-awaited debut album The Adventures of Bobby Ray last year and is currently beefing with Odd Future's Tyler, The Creator (though the fanbases don't seem to cross too much). Shady Records signee Yelawolf is currently working with Jonsin and Shady founder Eminem in prepping Radioactive, his upcoming debut studio album after a series of celebrated mixtapes.
