Seminal post-hard-core band Thursday has returned with a brand-new video, "Magnets Caught In A Metal Heart," off their critically sixth album, No Devolución. It's a more pensive, subdued song, and the ethereal, atmospheric video follows suit.
The inspiration behind the paper-cut-themed video was the band's No Devolución album art, created by Mia Pearlman. According to Spin.com, Thursday filmed scenes in front of a green screen in New Jersey while directors Davy and Kristin McGuire directed the band over Skype. Singer Geoff Rickly let the directors develop their own concept for the video, and they came back with stunningly animated paper planes and trains, a gothic cityscape, and a noir treatment that totally captivates and matches the song's ominous tone note for note.
