The French electro duo Justice just released THE GNARLIEST video to one of their GNARLIEST songs to date. The Edouard Salier-directed video for "Civilization" just premiered, and not only does the video itself recall some serious Heavy Metal-esque animation (with a crumbling world falling on buffaloes -- trust me, just watch), but the music also pays homage to some serious stadium rock.
"Civilization," which you've probably heard in that Adidas commercial, starts out with a bang. The Dio-devil-horns-sign-in-the-air opening verse veers into some massively heavy synth action. Make no mistake: This looks to be a huge comeback song for Justice after their 2007 smash "D.A.N.C.E." went global. But the song is so good it could be a comeback for anybody: Give the vocals to Ozzy Osbourne or Rob Halford, and this would make an easy huge comeback for them. Anybody over at Ed Banger Records (their label) listening? Put Rob Halford on vocals, release that as a single, massive hit. Boom. Done.
Justice is set to release a follow-up album to their frankly brilliant 2007 † debut later this year (yes, the name of the album is a cross). No word on when, but if it's anything like this you can be assured a) it'll be a massive hit and that b) I'll be the first in line to buy it.
