Colorful musical conquistador M.I.A. and French squelch-electro producer SebastiAn, who's remixed Kelis and the Kills, collaborated on a track called "C.T.F.O," which stands for, well, "chilling the f*** out." It's a mystery as to why these two didn't work together sooner, as SebastiAn's fuzzed-out beats combined with M.I.A.'s mistakable slur complement each other so well. It's like a nice wine paired with a complimentary cheese if the wine was aggressive electro and the cheese was a Sri Lankan singer with a Grammy.

While the song, from SebastiAn's Total album, doesn't necessarily make you want to "get high like paper" or "get fly like planes" like M.I.A's massive modern classic "Paper Planes," it does sound like the coolest song never put in an old-school video game. Is it just me or can I totally see this in the background of a game of Contra? Seriously, put this old Nintendo video on mute and listen to "C.T.F.O" at the same time. Am I right? I'm totally right.

It would be the ideal thing to hear at a club, or perhaps driving extremely fast, or perhaps simply being M.I.A. The singer is hard at work on more material for an upcoming mixtape with some high-profile collaborators, including Chris Brown and Swizz Beatz. We'll keep you posted on what it sounds like, but until then, listen to "C.T.F.O."

HOLD THE [SWATCH] PHONE! Jordan Knight has a new album out! The "Giving It To You" singer is truly "giving it to us" from a musical standpoint -- he's touring with fellow New Kids On The Block and the Backstreet Boys (NKOTBSB, for the uninvolved) beginning June 2 (have you bought your tickets?!) AND has been flying solo on his latest side hustle, his new album Unfinished. It'll be out May 31 on iTunes and features the easy yet up-tempo dancey beat of The New Kids On The Block's newer albums while clearly influenced by Jordan's 1999 solo debut, "Give It To You."

Listen to Jordan's solo songs, and it's clear that Jordan's boy-bander-all-grown-up hotness and ability to create dance-pop is ALSO "Unfinished." We envision it's a lifelong work in progress, actually. "Let's Go Higher" directly references DJs and dance floors -- a good indication that that's exactly where you'll hear his new songs. The overall flavor is grown-up NKOTB with shades of Enrique Iglesias. And even though Jordan's talking about things like "texting you right now" ("Like A Wave"), it's a more modern twist on NKOTB's chivalrous-yet-vulnerable tone that '80s fans (myself included) know and love. Jordan Girls will remember WHY we hightailed it to their concerts among screaming fans wearing 13 pieces of NKOTB paraphernalia/flair, including but not limited to a supersize button pin with Jordan Knight's face. We did it because we really FELT that he'd be loving us forever.

On "One More Night," a hip-hop inspired ballad, Knight teamed up with songwriter Nasri Atweh, who's worked with Justin Bieber and Chris Brown. "You have to let go and let the flow and the emotion take you instead of always following trends because if you think too much with your head it's not heartfelt," Jordan Knight told Billboard.com.

Unfinished is available now for preorder on iTunes and Amazon. Listen to it now on Billboard.com.

Pink haired rapstress Nicki Minaj released one hell of a song via her Twitter yesterday. It's called "Catch Me," and let us tell you: It's ill like a sickness. Her collaboration with super producer Swizz Beatz was originally supposed to be a bonus song sold on copies of Pink Friday at Best Buy, but Nicki dropped it as a single, because that's how independent women do.

The song veers from near Taiko-style drums during the verse to a moody breakdown which flows into a shimmering chorus with Nicki singing "Can she catch me?" Why wasn't this on the final album? Well, according to an Idolator report, Nicki said in an interview with Hot 93.7 from June of last year that "Catch Me" was definitely going to be on the album. Here's the quote:

“It's a little singing, a little rapping, but it's like a different vibe. It's a moody vibe. It's just dope. And the beat sounds really futuristic, but it's mellow futuristic. It puts you in this weird… like you're high type s***, even though I don't get high and I never have."

Hopefully we'll be hearing more collabs like this from Nicki and Swizz in the near future.

Get the song via Nicki Minaj's Twitter or listen to it at Idolator.

Beyoncé premiered her new song "1+1" on "American Idol" last night, and if "Run the World (Girls)" was a girl power call to arms, "1+1" is what goes through our heroine's head at the end of the day when the combat boots come off and she just wants to let her softer sideshow.

The opening track on her upcoming album, 4, the soaring ballad uses simple arithmetic to describe Beyoncé's undying love for her partner. Basically, Beyoncé's teaching us easy math:

"Hey! I don't know much about guns but I ... I've been shot by you/Hey! And I don't know when I'm gonna die, but I hope that I'm gonna die by you/Hey! And I don't know much about fighting, but I, I know I will fight for you/Hey! Just when I ball up my fist, I realize that I'm laying right next to you."

Judging from what we've heard so far, it seems like she's making good on her recent statements to Billboard that 4 will incorporate more diverse and varied sounds than previous albums, and that she gave herself "more freedom to really belt out some songs, and bring soul singing back." With so many different influences at play (soul, hip-hop, rock, Afrobeat), it's anyone's guess what we'll hear next from Beyoncé, but whatever it is -- more math, cooking-based songs, disco, whatever -- we%

We understand the irony of a guy who's made a career out of yelling "WHAAT?" and "OKAAY!" over hip-hop tracks showing up at the finale of the nation's premier singing competition. We really do. Those kids practiced for years to get their voices where they are, and in typical Lil Jon fashion, Lil Jon just kind of shows up at the finale and says "YEEAAAHHH" in his signature spastic-chill way. Because when you're as unflappable as Lil Jon, even a show as huge as the "American Idol" finale simply ain't no thang. Who are we kidding? Lil Jon could show up anywhere and make it that much more awesome.

Lil Jon introduced the amazing TLC last night on the show. "Idol" judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler (and also Jack Black, of all people!) were also on the red carpet for yesterday's finale, where 17-year-old country singer Scotty McCreery became the 10th "American Idol" winner. This is the first season that former "Idol" judge (and "Idol" impresario) Simon Cowell has been off the show since he left to work on his new singing competition franchise, The X Factor, which, by the way, made headlines yesterday when it was announced that Pussycat Doll frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger would be taking the place of British pop royalty Cheryl Cole as one of the judges. Which got us thinking...

Hey "Idol," why don't you have Lil Jon on as one of the judges? He's already got a built-in grading system. "WHAAT?" if it's bad, "OKAAY" if it's, well, and "YEEAAH" if it's great. See? Genius.

There's something going on in this photograph of Hilary Duff at today's Sobe "Try Everything Challenge" event in New York. I juuuuust can't put my finger on it. Hmm. Whatever it is, I'm sure it has nothing to do with those two melons. Not at all. Maybe it has something to do with Hilary's upcoming indie flick, "The Story Of Bonnie & Clyde"? Probably not. Or maybe something to do with her marriage to Canadian NHL star Mike Comrie? The Magic 8-Ball says "no." Perhaps it has something to do with her brand partnership with Sobe? Again, the data remains inconclusive.

The former Disney starlet has been busy lately writing young adult novels and appearing in shows like "Community." She's also been teaming up with Sobe for a couple promotional appearances, although... gosh darn it... there's that feeling again when I look at this picture! Am I missing something? Maybe it's just me. Do you guys see anything special here? I can't quite place the joke -- there's a joke that I want to make... I mean... it's on the tip of my tongue... nope. Just can't think of anything. Hopefully the Hilary Duff will figure out some sort of pseudo-sexual pun about her two melons she's holding, because I sure can't. Hmm. Back to the drawing board on this one.

Don't look now, Andy Samberg, but there's a giant Rick Ross behind you about to chomp down on your head with several rows of giant shark teeth! The unlikely pair re-created the iconic "Jaws 2" movie poster on the cover of Complex magazine's June/July issue, which boasts the "first real rap interview" with Samberg's comedy hip-hop trio, Lonely Island.

In their Complex interview, the Lonely Island guys (who are hot, I must add) discuss their sophomore album, Turtleneck And Chain, as well as their preferred studio environment. "We like the atmosphere from '80s action movies like "Cobra,"" Samberg said. "You wanna be on the mic believing that doves might fly through at any moment…and then gunfire." They also make sure we know they're under no delusions about their "street cred." "If you can get lower than zero, then we have lost street cred," according to Samberg.

To complement the pretty picture, Complex also filmed an exclusive video interview with Samberg and Rick Ross. Watch it below. (Warning: NSFW language!)

Remember the adorably benign Sanjaya Malakar from the sixth season of "American Idol"? Perhaps you're one of the many, many voters who helped him last longer than anyone thought he would, or should. Or maybe you went on a hunger strike to try to get him eliminated. Regardless, you probably heard his name around the watercooler (or wherever you go to talk about television) quite a lot in 2007. But did you know he's still singing his little heart out?

It's true! Sanjaya is back with a new single, a cover of the 1981 classic "Tempted" by the band Squeeze. Taken from his upcoming album Life ~ Love ~ Music, the single was produced by former Billy Joel bass player Larry Russell. And Sanjaya does a decent job with the song, but it's sort of funny to imagine him on some sort of business trip, briefcase in hand, wondering whether or not to cheat on his wife. (Moral advice: Don't!) The single's cover art is also amusing. Sanjaya and his "tempting" lady friend are looking pretty good, but as always, his goofy hair distracts. Is this song going to be Sanjaya's comeback, or should he have left it to karaoke singers and Burger King commercials? Listen to a clip over at Rickey.org if you're curious. If you like it, it's available for download on Sanjaya's website.

If there was a "well I didn't see that coming" section of the news, then this would certainly be a part of it: Chris Crocker, better known as the "Leave Britney Alone!" YouTube guy has released a new video telling Britney Spears to leave the stage alone. Um...

In 2007, when Britney was in the throes of a highly publicized meltdown, Chris Crocker released a tearful statement asking the media to please "leave Britney alone." That was a good move on his part: Not only did the video message make a good point (the constant media presence during a massive breakdown didn't exactly help things), but it also garnered Chris some 40 million hits for that video alone. After a foray into the music biz, he's left the Hollywood lifestyle for his hometown in Tennessee.

Throughout his new video, Chris argues that Britney doesn't want to be on stage and made a hasty retreat from the stage after her Billboard Music Awards performance with Rihanna. (In all fairness, people usually DO exit the stage after a performance... especially on live television.) Chris issues a caveat, saying "I will always care about her on a human level" but no longer supports her performance, which he refers to as robotic. He also calls out Britney fans for being "delusional." Ugh. You're entitled to your opinion (which, of course, is not ours), but way to be a supportive fan, bro. Also, in the words of Lady Gaga in "Judas," "ew."

Anyway, without further ado, watch Chris Crocker's video (warning: NSFW language), watch Britney and Rihanna's Billboard Music Awards performance, and tell us what you think of Chris Crocker's commentary.
