We have to admit it's a little ironic that Lady Gaga took home the CFDA's Fashion Icon award last night when a great deal of her wardrobe consists of nip pasties and mesh. But what do we know? We're currently wearing this shirt and had to Google "CFDA." (It's the Council of Fashion Designers of America, FYI.)
After showing up to the awards in a blue bobbed turquoise wig and a pretty normal dress that even regular people might wear (seen below), the "Born This Way" singer took it all off at the afterparty at New York's Boom Boom Room. Because nothing says "Let's celebrate this prestigious award" the way a see-through bodysuit with a zippered crotch does.
For real, though, congratulations to electrical tape manufacturers on what we assume is a sharp increase in your profit margins. What was once just a handy tool that your dad had in the junk drawer can now also serve as a "shirt" with the help of a handy pair of scissors. Lady Gaga: artist, performer, gay rights supporter and pasty advocate. Who doesn't she help?
