L.A. pop-rap sensation Far East Movement just released the video for their Beastie Boys-sampling track "So What," off their Free Wired album, and it's resplendent with hip-hop video staples -- stacks of cash, a motorcycle, scantily clad woman -- along with... some other stuff. In addition to their briefcase of cash and their video vixen (do all of these guys share her?), it would appear the boys also love burnt toast and... Pepto-Bismol? Whatever works, guys.
I had to roll my eyes a little when I saw the hot chick standing on the oven ("get in the kitchen, woman!") but the medicinal-looking pink liquid she coats herself in adds a whole new layer to the narrative. Maybe she's cooked herself a rich meal and is having G.I. issues and is improperly self-medicating by applying Pepto to her outsides? (Those pesky labels are so hard to read!) Or maybe J-Splif has a deep-seated Pepto-Bismol fetish dating back to childhood? That's some sick ish right there.
All over-the-counter fetishizing aside, the video is undeniably slick, and I appreciate the chutzpah it takes to rhyme "lingerie" with "cham-pag-nee."
