Something adorable this way comes! The ultra-posi young folks of Louisiana-based indie-pop band GIVERS have just filmed their FIRST-EVER music video. It's for their single "Up Up Up," and we must say they're off to a good start. In the just-released preview, the band plays on a magical space island way up in the sky, before the camera zooms down in to New York City to the tune of some sunny Afro-pop. What happens next? Thirty seconds is simply not enough.
The single is taken from their debut album, In Light, which was produced by the experienced hand of Ben Allen. Allen has worked with such musical luminaries as Cee Lo, Animal Collective and Deerhunter; in other words, he knows what the heck he's doing. But how did these plucky kids get to this point in the first place? Ever since their 2005 formation, the band has been garnering steady buzz on the internet, which has led to invitations to open for the likes of The Dirty Projectors and Ra Ra Riot, appearances at SXSW and their ultimate singing with Glassnote Entertainment. It would seem they've got nowhere to go but...up, up, up. (Sorry, had to.)
