Reactions to the tragic death of Amy Winehouse have been flooding in. Fans gathered outside of her London apartment to commemorate her, and many celebrities took to Twitter to share their thoughts and condolence. But in classic trendsetter fashion, M.I.A. chose to honor Amy in a different way -- through music.
M.I.A. posted an unreleased demo titled "27" on her Soundcloud Saturday night. She offered very little explanation other than declaring that it's "dedicated to all my friends that died at 27." In the world of rock stars, 27 is a dangerous age -- Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison all died at age 27, making Amy's sudden departure at that same young age even more chilling.
Amid the massive reaction to her posting, M.I.A. later clarified the song's meaning on Twitter: "I recorded this song B4 vickileekx and never put it out. It's a unfinished demo. R.I.P A.M.Y."
While any Winehouse tribute is thoughtful, we love to see fellow musicians honoring each other via the medium the love. Amy Winehouse's death is heartbreaking and she is gone too soon, but as M.I.A's "27" says, "All rock stars go to heaven."

Remember back in 2009 when Young Jeezy announced the release of Thug Motivation 103, the rapper's fourth album and third in the Thug Motivation series? With the release of "Shake Life," the album's second and most recent single following "Ballin," looks like we're close to actually hearing the full album.
The Lil Lody-produced track, which Jeezy premiered on New York radio station Hot 97 last week, flips Toto's 1978 lite rock hit "Georgy Porgy" into a jazzy beat anchored by a piano loop and electric guitar. As the debt ceiling deadline looms, Jeezy has reined in his lyrical obsession with money to focus on everyday fiduciary problems relatable to most Americans. JK! Snowman still likes to get paid, rhyming, "Supposed to live every day just like it’s your last/Smile at these suckas while you spending your cash/Ball til you fall, how long it’s gon last/The only thing that matters is how long is your cash."
While it hasn't been confirmed when we'll hear all of Thug Motivation 103, the rapper is planning to unveil the album's release date at a New York show tonight.

Oh, Katy Perry. What would the wacky dressmakers of the world do without you? Katy attended the premiere of The Smurfs movie in New York City last night, and surprise, she was wearing a themed dress for the occasion! Also sporting lighter locks and Smurf-inspired blue eye shadow, the nine-time VMA nominee successfully made a dress with a sparkly cartoon character on it look hot. It's just not fair.
Katy Perry voices the role of Smurfette in the live action film, so it's only appropriate that she was reppin' her girl on her dress. Huge kudos to the dress designer and the team of workers who perfected the bedazzled-ness of Smurfette -- on a scale of one to Kanye, this dress is like, a Liberace. And extra kudos to Katy Perry for always answering the question "Too much?" with "Hell no!"

Shaking off an ex is never easy, but as the star of The Downtown Fiction's latest video "Thanks For Nothing" finds out, it can practically drive you insane.
"I don't want to see you or anyone from your stupid band ever again," says the jilted ex to singer Cameron Leahy. Yeah, then this isn't going to end well for you. Walking through record shops, Laundromats and other local stores, our frustrated, delusional protagonist begins to see Leahy, drummer Eric Jones or bassist David Pavluk in virtually everyone she encounters. Kinda like Being John Malkovich minus John Malkovich.
With the line between reality and fantasy now permanently blurred, did she really see her ex with another girl? Is she even at the band's show, or was it all just an elaborate mental construct? We're entering into punk-pop Inception territory here, people. Here's hoping for a sequel, in which Cameron's ex starts speaking in only Downtown Fiction lyrics and then blasts off into space and lands on whichever planet Katy Perry's "E.T." was filmed. You're welcome for the free idea, Cameron.
"Thanks For Nothing" is the lead single from the band's recently released debut album, Let's Be Animals.

Twenty-one-year-old female rapper and MTV PUSH Artist of the Week Kreayshawn had already earned an impressive amount of shine from directing videos for fellow Bay Area MC Lil B. But it was the release of her first single, "Gucci Gucci," two months ago that launched the rapper from obscurity to ubiquity. The video generated more than 3 million views in its first three weeks and led the Odd Future affiliate and VMA Best New Artist nominee to a $1 million recording contract with Sony. Swag indeed.
Now, the femcee with an affinity for larger-than-life accessories is balancing dual careers, prepping her debut full-length for later this year and directing videos, including "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie," the lead single from Red Hot Chili Peppers' upcoming album I'm With You.
We've got some interviews and a live Kreayshawn performance to get you up to speed. First, check out the rapper discussing the importance of her Oakland hometown and the influence of her mom, a member of '90s all-girl surf punk band The Trashwomen, on her sound. Kreayshawn also gives an in-depth history of her video director past as well as her obsession with cats. Sad news to report: Amy Winehouse was found dead in her home in North London today. The cause of death has not been confirmed. She was just 27 years old.
One of the most talented singer/songwriters of her generation, Amy Winehouse was known for her British drawl and beehive, her belty, bluesy voice and profoundly pained lyrics that recalled the work of seminal blues singers like Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughn. Seemingly as troubled as she was talented, Amy Winehouse suffered from highly public legal entanglements and disorderly conduct as well as dangerous battles with substance abuse. Winehouse entered rehab as recently as May 2011 and canceled some June tour dates.
Born in Southgate, London, in 1983, Winehouse left an unforgettable and indelible mark on modern pop and soul music, leaving behind two highly acclaimed albums, including her 2003 album, Frank, and her 2006 breakthrough album, Back to Black, featuring the titular single and, forebodingly, the song "Rehab." Back to Black became a multiplatinum worldwide smash and won her five Grammys and a BRIT Award.
Amy Winehouse will be remembered by her family, friends and fans as a great talent gone too soon.

You would think that talking about how hot Rihanna is would get old or monotonous, but you'd be wrong. So here we are again! The "California King Bed" singer was seen leaving a Manhattan hotel looking a little more undone than we're used to. RiRi sported some wavy hair, a casual tank (all my casual tanks are held together with ropes, too), and a bandanna à la your friendly neighborhood cleaning lady. She's dressed in what looks like anyone else's Sunday scrubs, yet she'd still pass the line at any club.
The last time we saw her, Rihanna pulled out her best tomboy outfit for the occasion (still hot, no worries). And the time before that, we spotted her in Miami Beach definitely not looking like a tomboy. But we have to say that we love where this Rihanna look is going: It says, "We Can Do It" mixed with a little "scrub-a-dub dub" -- in other words, the fantasy of every man in America.

Kelly Rowland's forthcoming album Here I Am may be hitting stores July 26, but thanks in large part to several juicy leaks that have surfaced, we've already gotten a real taste of what's to come. And at the risk of sounding super weird, may I just say this album tastes reeeeal delicious? Too bad, I said it anyway.
The latest song to leak off Kelly's long overdue release is a melodic ballad featuring Rico Love, titled "All Of The Night." Kelly sings sweetly in multiple-part harmony as she successfully seduces her man: "One on one, we're having some fun/In the bedroom all day and all of the night." Welp, that's one way to put it. Rico Love (or should we call him "Rico Suave" -- sorry, had to) chimes in for a very sexed-up verse of his own and asks one simple question: "I don't mean to impose but what the clothes for?/This is a bedroom and that's a closed door." Thanks for the new pickup line!
In addition to this ballad, Kelly Rowland's also got a roster of uptempo jams slated for Here I Am. We told you about her "Lay It On Me" collaboration with Big Sean, and we brought you the scoop on her video for "Motivation," featuring Lil Wayne. But just in case those aren't satisfactory, our pals at Idolator have provided snippets of all 10 tracks on Here I Am. Hear the deliciousness for yourself. Yep, still weird.

With "Forever Young" plastered next to Selena Gomez on August's cover of Elle Mexico, we had to double-check that the "Love You Like A Love Song" singer is, in fact, only 19 years old after our friends over at Idolator posted this pic. She looks so mature here with those '40s-inspired curls and that "like a BOSS" power outfit.
Actually, guys, Selena is 19 years old TODAY! Woo-hoo! Happy birthday, Selena, and welcome to the weird age of being able to be drafted, but not being able to buy a beer or rent a car! Laws are dumb!
We're pretty sure Selena Gomez couldn't care less about renting a car, though. We have a feeling she has her transportation system well taken care of (i.e. she's rich). But anyway, in honor of your beautiful Elle Mexico cover and your 19th birthday, Selena, we got you something: GIFs! Yes, they're of your boyfriend Justin Bieber, which you probably don't need because you see him all the time IRL, but everyone loves GIFs. It's a rule.
Happy birthday, Selena Gomez!

Those would have been good enough, but then:

And all we have to say about that is: o__O
