If you're a die-hard Big Time Rush fan, then 10 months is like, nine months and 29 days too long to wait for some new BTR material. Luckily, the Big Time Rush drought has finally ended thanks to the Nick foursome's latest release, "If I Ruled The World," which features their good bud, rapper/reggae singer Iyaz.

In true Big Time Rush fashion, "If I Ruled The World" is impossibly catchy, perfectly pop and sends an uplifting message to fans. Led by a guitar-driven track, Big Time Rush's vocals are perfectly in check as they chant "So everybody get up, up outta your seats/Kick off your shoes like you're down at the beach/Jump up, up, up on the beat and singing ay-o, ay-o."

While the boys of Big Time Rush have been seriously grinding out on the road playing festival dates, they've tempted fans with live previews of this new song. Unsurprisingly, reactions to "If I Ruled The World" have been, how shall I say, COMPLETELY WILD. And to calm their zealous supporters, the Big Time Rush men ran to the studio to make their new song available for all. Hooray!

Time for a collective "THANKS GUYS!" Not only have you given me a new jam to play at my next rooftop BBQ, but I think "If I Ruled The World" might just make it all the way to my new gym mix, and everyone knows that's a high honor.

"If I Ruled The World" will premiere on air on Nickelodeon's "Big Time Rush" Friday, July 22, at 8 p.m. ET.

MTV is abuzz with all things VMA today, and duh, so is Twitter! The #VMAs hashtag is taking over, for better or for worse.

You guys have been tweeting us (@MTVBuzzworthy) nonstop (the hashtag #vmanominationfailure did not go unnoticed by us!) and we just want to let you know that WE HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR! You certainly haven't been shy about voicing your opinions about your favorite 2011 MTV VMA nominations. And some of you have reserved a special brand of ardor (read: f-bombs) for your reactions to what you consider to be VMA snubs.

Here are just a few Twitter fan reactions to the 2011 MTV VMA nominations.

This is what we like to call "playing nice." With seven nominations, Adele is the second most-nominated artist, and some people on Twitter are hating. So we were pleased to see that @TeamNickiMinaj reached across party lines to praise the "Rolling In The Deep" singer, even though Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" video is up against Adele's for Best Female Video.

Tons of support for front-runner and nine-time nominee Katy Perry on the ol' Twittersphere. Statistically, she will probably at least grab one of those, right?!

Lady Gaga's ever-reliable Little Monsters are making their mark in our "@ replies," and you do have to applaud them for their vigor. But it's up to you guys to vote! (So do it!)

The nominees for the 2011 MTV VMAs were announced last night, and, accordingly -- and just like an awards show itself (or the Miss America pageant) -- there were tears of joy and slight sighs of disappointment. On Twitter and in the Buzzworthy comments, I saw some not-so-oblique references to Lady Gaga's three nominations by fans who hoped she'd earn more. And many Britney Spears fans were gunning for her to earn a Video Of The Year nomination, though I think her Best Pop Video nomination and Best Choreography nomination for "Till The World Ends" aren't too shabby. Katy Perry fans, of course, had lots to celebrate with Katy picking up an astounding nine nominations. Some Rihanna fans were, how shall I say, nonplussed over the fact that despite her appearance on seven VMA-nominated songs and videos, her own solo material (like "California King Bed" or "Only Girl In The World" didn't earn a VMA nomination. And I saw Jennifer Lopez fans adamant that "On The Floor" should've shown up on the nominee list.

The 2011 VMAs also feature lots of never-before-nominated bands in the Best Rock Video category, including Mumford & Sons and Cage The Elephant! And how about the Best New Artist category? The Taylor Gang's probably getting their lighters up since Wiz Khalifa (crush time!) is nominated. And Kreayshawn? The Bay Area rapper and relative rookie came out of left field and made her way to the starting lineup, earning a slot on the Best New Artist (hi, extended sports metaphor!)

And then there were the names totally absent from the VMA ballot: No VMA nominations for major pop artists such as Ke$ha, Taylor Swift or Pink caused unending Twitter chatter. Oddly, there seemed to be no apparent backlash over Rebecca Black's name not appearing under any VMA category.

So, of all of the VMA nominees and categories, what surprised or shocked you the most? Let me know in the comments.

Soul legend Otis Redding may have left us more than 40 years ago, but his musical spirit has once again been resurrected: Jay-Z and Kanye West (the latter nabbing seven VMA nominations) just dropped the aptly titled "Otis," the lead single off their upcoming collaborative album Watch The Throne as a tribute to the duo's musical hero.

Opening with a sample from the classic Redding cover, "Try A Little Tenderness," the Kanye-produced track eschews a chorus in favor of back-and-forth verses between the two rappers. Both MCs balance conspicuous consumption ("Truth: new watch alert, Hublot’s/Or the big face Rollie I got two of those," rhymes Jay-Z) with emcee braggadocio (Kanye: "I made 'Jesus Walks' so never going to hell/Couture level flow is never going on sale") for a track that reasserts both rappers' positions at the forefront of hip-hop.

Musically, it's a curious lead single, especially for the man behind equally soul-drenched, if not catchier, tracks like "Through The Wire" or "Gold Digger" (not to mention countless singles for other artists). There's no recognizable horn blasts à la the Curtis Mayfield-sampling "Touch the Sky" or fun, sing-along hook like "Izzo (H.O.V.A.)" that you can drunkenly yell at a bar. But the strength of "Otis" lies in its minimalist construction, allowing each rapper's voice and lyrics to present themselves front and center on the track.

Watch The Throne has a tentative digital release date of Aug. 1 and physical release four days later. Last week, a full track listing was released, confirming guest appearances by BeyoncéFrank Ocean and Mr. Hudson.

So what do you think of "Otis"? Take a listen and tell us in the comments below!

Saying Clipse rapper Pusha T and Odd Future honcho Tyler, The Creator, who's nominated for a 2011 MTV VMA for Best New Artist, have trouble on their minds is like saying Justin Bieber is a little bit popular. But as the new video for "Trouble On My Mind" shows, the duo are more into innocent pranks and mischief than anything requiring a padded cell.

While the Jason Goldwatch-directed video starts off ominously enough -- Pusha and Tyler don ski masks while driving around Los Angeles -- the only projectiles launched are eggs at nearby pedestrians. With Tyler still nursing a very real broken foot, the rapper fully utilizes a comically out-of-place mobility scooter as a gang of skaters and one overzealous woman in a housedress follow/grope him.

That's when things get out of control, as Tyler's crew demolish and vandalize a hotel room, while Pusha and his one-man entourage destroy a local bodega. We'll let the video detail the specifics, but let's just say we feel sorry for the housekeeper shown at the end.

"Trouble On My Mind," produced by The Neptunes, will appear on Pusha T’s Fear of God: Let Us Pray, out Aug. 23.

Katy Perry is a very lucky girl. She's had a slew of No. 1 records, she's happy married to hunky Brit Russell Brand and she just got word that she racked up a whopping NINE 2011 MTV VMA nominations, which puts her at the top of the heap. An astounding feat, Perry's nine noms include Best Pop Video, Best Collaboration, Best Art Direction, Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Special Effects, Best Female Video, Best Cinematography and Video Of The Year. Phew! That was a mouthful.

But if the California Gurl had her druthers, she would have shared some of her VMA love with a few of her close pals, too. Katy Perry took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the VMA snubs. She tweeted, "I do miss my RiRi, (s&m) Swifty, (back to dec) Kesha (blow) & Robyn (every vid!) Jessie J, (pricetag) in the/any categories. #ohmanitstough"

While we think all the VMA noms were well deserved, we kind of agree with Katy here. Why isn't there room for everyone?! Sigh. I guess there's always next year.

The only time I'm this happy when I'm shopping is when there are zero other customers in the store and it's a 100 percent off sale. But, my name's not Rebecca Black. The "My Moment" singer was having a moment of her own yesterday when she was spotted at celeb shopping zone Fred Segal in West Hollywood. I've never been to that store, but they must serve you like, gold-plated ice cream topped with 100 dollar bill sprinkles when you walk in or something. Girlfriend is straight CHEESIN'.

Although, if I was Rebecca Black, I'd probably be smiling this hard too. Her newest single, "My Moment," which was just released two days ago, already has more than 10 million views on YouTube (not to mention that other video of hers). So to everyone hating on this internet sensation: Your repeated clicks are buying Rebecca Black her next $600 pair of shoes. Congratulations!

The 2011 MTV VMA nominees have been announced, and Katy Perry might want to start drafting a VMA acceptance speech, because she's nominated for an extraordinary NINE VMAs, including Best Pop Video, Best Collaboration, Best Art Direction, Best Direction, Best Editing and Best Special Effects for "E.T." featuring Kanye West, and Video Of The Year and Best Female Video for "Firework," as well as Best Cinematography for "Teenage Dream." No big deal or anything.

But Katy Perry's not the only star who could be walking out with more than a couple Moonmen on VMA night. Adele earned seven VMA nominations for her smash hit song "Rolling In The Deep." Adele's VMA nominations include Video Of The Year, Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Direction and Best Editing.

Kanye West can proudly claim six VMA nominations for "All Of The Lights" and "Power," while Bruno Mars has been honored with four VMA nominations for Video of The Year, Best Male Video, Best Pop Video and Best Choreography.
