I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I thought the promo strategy for Timbaland's new song featuring David Guetta and Pitbull was a bit, well, weird. Called "Pass At Me," the song is a blazing club banger so I assumed that an appropriate promotional strategy might include bikini-clad babes driving around L.A. in a drop top. Or maybe an energy drink offering a free download. Welp, I was wrong.
Instead, listeners get to hear Timbaland's new record via a video trailer... for a book... about rear ends. Yes, "Pass On Me" serves as the soundtrack to a video preview for a book about butts. IDK.
Let us break this down for you: Featuring images shot by photographer Raphael Mazzucco and a forward by Interscope exec Jimmy Iovine, the book "Culo By Mazzucco" preaches that the culo ("bottom" in Italian) is the nerve center of all female sexuality, lust and desire. To really drive this point home, the extremely NSFW trailer features Timbaland's rather sexual "Pass At Me" and about a million naked culos dancing to the song.
Honestly, I'm not quite sure what this book or the culo has to do with "Pass At Me." Butt we're pretty sure Timbaland, Pitbull and David Guetta have no problem lending their talents to such a great cause.
