For those of you lucky enough to get to Chicago this weekend for Lollapalooza, we know coordinating schedules and rifling between the large number of bands can be a bit daunting. Trust us, we've been there. But if you don't know where to start, may we humbly suggest checking out these four acts in between scarfin' on deep dish pizzas and watermelon jalapeño popsicles.
1. Foster the People — The former MTV PUSH Artist of the Week scored one of the biggest songs of last year with "Pumped Up Kicks," a song so good that Weezer deemed it cover-worthy. Live, the L.A. indie pop group have proven that staying on the road forever makes you better with each show.
2. Lykke Li — The Swedish singer bounds around the stage, never relenting on her massive amounts of energy and exuberance. But the equally important reason to check her out is her improbable, yet exciting, choice of covers that have included Rick Ross's "Hustlin'," A Tribe Called Quest's "Can I Kick It?" and Kings of Leon's "Knocked Up."
3. Muse — When we last saw the bombastic UK group headline Lolla in 2007, we were treated to pyrotechnics, awe-inspiring graphics and a light show worthy of Times Square on New Year's. Four years later, we can't imagine they've dialed down the effects.
4. Young The Giant — The most recent addition to the 2011 MTV VMA lineup get their practice time here before prepping for the awards and an upcoming tour with Incubus. See them now for bragging rights before the VMAs.
What about you guys? Who are you going to see this weekend at Lollapalooza, or who's performance do you wish you were in Chicago for? Let us know!
