It's official: Two is this summer's magic number. And why not? Two is always better than one -- well, maybe not two flat tires or two broken arms or two dates finding out you're dating them both at the same time. OK, maybe duos are this summer's magic number, especially in the hip-hop world. There's Kanye West and Jay-Z, T-Pain and Chris Brown, and now Lil Wayne and Drake.
Lil Wayne's highly anticipated ninth studio album, Tha Carter IV, teased us with his "How To Love" single last month. Now on "She Will," Weezy offers a little taste of how he plays with others, specifically fellow rapper Drake. The T-Minus-produced track starts with a synth-like string that slowly generates into a deep beat, offering a heavy backdrop to some even heavier lyrics. On "She Will," the guys rhyme about what they know: women, haters and dangerous living. "Life on the edge, I'm dangling my feet/I tried to pay attention, but attention paid me/Haters can't see me, nosebleed seats/And today I went shopping and talk is still cheap." Wayne's token snarl meshes perfectly with Drake's sing-songy swagger and basically, it's a match made in rap heaven, which is a place we'd like to visit.
Rumor has it Wayne and Drake will be pairing up on a future collabo with the Watch The Throne dynamic duo, Kayne and Jay-Z. Math just got fun, guys: 2 rap dudes + another 2 rap dudes = an epic huge rap collabo!!!!
