I'm not sure we've extended a hearty enough "THANKS!" to VH1's "Do Something Awards." Not only were they home to Demi Lovato's goosebump-inducing performance of "Skyscraper," but they also inspired one of the best Wilson Phillips performances I've ever witnessed!!! My junior high fantasies are finally coming true!!!!
Fresh off their hysterical cameo in this year's breakout film "Bridesmaids," the '90s songbirds were introduced by emcee Jane Lynch, who joked about being "fired from Wilson Phillips" and being the group's long-lost fourth member. Newsflash: Jane, honey, if anyone is the long-lost member of Wilson Phillips, its ME. Do you know how many times I've karaoke-ed to "Hold On"? I would lose friends if I revealed the actual number.
A fitting song for the inspiring "Do Something Awards," you could still see the passion in their eyes after all these years as Wilson Phillips sang those famous words: "Don't you know things can change/Things'll go your way/If you hold on for one more day/Can you hold on for one more day."
Towards the end of the song, supposed fourth member Jane emerged on stage and banged on a cowbell as she chimed in on the last chorus. In other words, this performance was PERFECTION AND WE NEED A WILSON PHILLIPS REUNION TOUR!!!
