Beyonce performed her bouncy, soulful "Love On Top" from her latest album 4 at the 2011 VMAs, though it was her actions after the song that'll have you talking in the morning. (I. E. She's pregnant!!!!!!)

With a dozen back-up singers in tow, Beyonce belted a triumphant version of the standout track from 4. Dressed in black pants and pink sequined jacket, the singer slowly made her way toward the middle of center stage. After finishing "Love on Top," Bey dropped her mic purposefully onto the stage, opened up her jacket and proudly rubbed her belly, confirming pregnancy rumors that surrounded the singer all night.

As Kanye West hugged Bey's husband Jay-Z in the crowd (flanked by Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett), Jay couldn't contain his beaming smile now that the world knows the news. On Watch The Throne's "New Day," Jay spends his verse rhyming to his "hypothetical" unborn child. Wonder if he knew something we didn't when writing that verse.

Lady Gaga (still dressed as Jo Calderone) presented Britney Spears with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award at the 2011 VMAs, causing some honorific and near-shocking moments.

Gaga, who began her career as a struggling songwriter in New York's Lower East Side, told the crowd Spears was always an inspiration to her in her fledgling years. "She taught us all how to be fearless, and the industry wouldn't be the same without her," said Gaga, before sharing that posters of the pop star inspired her in numerous ways.

After bringing Spears on stage, Gaga and Spears began to emulate the iconic Spears-Madonna lip-lock from the 2003 VMAs, but backed off at the last minute. Even Britney knew we've seen that before (though if it's Jo Calderone, is that just hooking up with a guy?) Britney went on to thank her family, MTV, and most importantly, her fans.

Spears accepted the award the day before what would have been Jackson's 52nd birthday.

There were a lot of killer performances to talk about tonight at the 2011 VMAs, and it's hard to top years past show stoppers, but we gotta give it up to Beyoncé for saving such an AHHHH-MA-ZING lil' announcement exclusively just for us... Yeah, okay, and the rest of the world, too.

First, she showed up on the VMA Red Carpet looking all glowy and glam in a fab orange dress, and showed off her baby bump. And later, wearing a purple sequined tuxedo jacket and black slacks she launched into her lovely "Love On Top," opening the tune by saying, "Tonight I want you to stand up on your feet. I want you to feel the love that's growing inside of me." *chills* We could picture little Jayoncé grooving in the womb along to the happy momma-to-be's serenade.

But then, wait, and THEN as she ended "Love On Top," for those who hadn't heard the news yet from the red carpet, Bey ceremoniously dropped her mic, unbuttoned her tux, put her hands on her hips and jutted her belly forward, and confirmed she was pregnant by RUBBING HER BUDDING BABY BUMP while beaming from ear to ear! Proud papa Jay-Z was on his feet, all smiles and clapping, then he saluted his wife on stage while his pal Kanye West gave him props and patted his back.

Sooooooo many congrats to you Beyonce and Jay! We can't wait to meet the little one!!!

When Lady Gaga spoke to MTV News about what her 2011 VMA performance might entail, she described it as a continuation of everything she's ever done. Now that the world has finally seen her VMA performance of "You And I," we now know what she meant. Lady Gaga opened the VMAs this year as Jo Calderone, her male alter ego.

We first met Jo Calderone when Lady Gaga posed for Vogue Hommes Japan in September of 2010. In the photo shoot, she sported a masculine white button down and men's slacks. Her female-to-male transformation was really complete with the power of hair and makeup, or lack thereof -- Jo Calderone sports a slicked back '50s greaser hairdo with thick sideburns and dark, brooding eyes. He's also usually smoking a cigarette. Many Little Monsters may have thought that Jo's appearance in Vogue Hommes Japan was a one-time deal, but this is Lady Gaga we're talking about, people -- there's a deeper meaning to everything that she does.

Jo Calderone didn't show up again until we saw Lady Gaga's single cover for "Yoü And I," where he's seen on the cover showing us his profile and exhaling smoke from his cigarette. When the "Yoü And I" video premiered, fans got their first true look at Gaga's male alter ego in action, as Gaga appears as Jo during about a third of the video, seated on top of a piano while Lady Gaga plays beneath him.

Lady Gaga's appearance at the 2011 VMAs as Jo Calderone marks the world's fourth look at Gaga's male alter ego, and once again, she has us all scratching our heads. Not only did Gaga carry out her VMA performance as Jo Calderone, but she didn't break character the entire night. So we have to ask: Is Jo Calderone some kind of performance art, or is Lady Gaga actually becoming Jo Calderone? We don't even know if Lady Gaga can answer that question.

Young the Giant had the distinction of being the only rock performance of the night (Lil Wayne notwithstanding), and their performance of "My Body" at tonight's 2011 VMAs showed a group having as much fun as their fans.

Frontman Sameer Gadhia began the performance with his band, but that didn't last long. As the singer made his way down the catwalk, eying the excited fans around him, Gadhia's frenetic energy spurred the singer to jump into the crowd, crowd surf and roll around on the stage. For a band with such intense fan interaction as Young the Giant, Gadhia's unbridled energy and spontaneous actions contrasted nicely against his peers' rehearsed-to-within-an-inch-of-their-lives performances.

Despite a performance broadcast to millions, tonight's performance of "My Body" could have been at any small all-ages rock or punk show in the country. It was a raw performance, unmoved, unconcerned and unrestricted by conventional award show tactics and gimmicks. Just a band and a few hundred fans, magnified for the world stage.

Chris Brown's performance at the VMAs focused as much on dancing as singing, as the R&B singer bounded around various stages suspended by wires while paying homage to some hip-hop and rock classics.

Dressed in a crisp, white suit, Brown opened the performance in silhouette on a rotating stage before showing off impressive dance moves. After a bevy of female dancers accompanied the singer, Brown paid homage to two legendary groups. First, Brown started with a high-energy "Yeah 3X" before he took it back to the mid-90s with a Wu-Tang Clan tribute, utilizing snippets from the group's classic tracks "Protect Ya Neck" and "Wu Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing to F--- Wit" to dance with hoodie-clad dancers. As backup dancers jumped around on trampolines, Brown then paid tribute to Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" before breaking into his own track "Beautiful People."

As the song began, Brown, attached by two wires, flew around from stage to stage, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon style. The last person to do that at the VMAs was Sacha Baron Cohen as Bruno, and we all know how that turned out. But Brown kept it classy, bounding around stages and showing off the famous choreography that helped make him a ubiquitous star.

Shunning unnecessary theatrics or gimmicks, Adele only needed a microphone and a pianist to deliver what might have been the classiest performance of the 2011 VMAs with her rendition of "Someone Like You."

Dressed in a sophisticated black dress, the UK singer delivered a subtle, emotionally rousing performance of "Someone Like You," the second single from her gazillion-selling album 21. With many of tonight's performances going for the over-the-top feel, Adele's performance felt anachronistic and out-of-place in the best possible way; the tiny, smoke-filled jazz club magnified and beamed out to millions.

Given her forceful, emphatic hand gestures, Adele came off as much opera singer as jazzy soul belter, proving that you don't need flashy pyrotechnics or outrageous costumes if you have the vocal chops. You could hear the sound of a thousand audience members thinking of their exes and dabbing their eyes with gold-encrusted handkerchiefs.

Adele's second album 21, released earlier this year, is the biggest album of 2011 so far, selling more than three million copies.

Wavves’ Nathan Williams hasn’t met Foo Fighters kingpin Dave Grohl in real life, but you can at least hear him sing about it in “I Wanna Meet Dave Grohl,” a new song written by Williams for the upcoming MTV show “I Just Want My Pants Back.”

Williams has come on as the show’s Guest Composer, which will feature nearly 20 songs written by the Wavves frontman both exclusively for the show and the band’s upcoming Life Sux EP. After seeing the pilot about a group of college graduates living in Brooklyn –- insert your favorite hipster joke here -– Williams quickly composed the tracks; some as new songs and others taken from past unused demos. Taken from David J. Rosen’s book of the same name, the show is produced by Doug Liman, who, as the director of "Swingers," knows a bit about angst in your 20s.

You won’t be able to see “I Just Want My Pants Back” regularly until next year, but we’ve got the debut episode premiering right after tonight’s VMAs at 11 p.m. But if you’re fiending for the new track, we’ve got a free download of “I Wanna Meet Dave Grohl” below. You’re welcome.

Life Sux will be released September 20 via Williams’ own Ghost Ramp label. An as-yet-untitled full-length will be available later this year.

Pitbull, Ne-Yo and Nayer brought the club to the Nokia Theatre L.A. tonight with their dynamic performance of "Give Me Everything" at the 2011 VMAs. With the help of tons of sexy lady dancers dressed in body suits, Pitbull's red pants, Ne-Yo's sunglasses, and Nayer's VERY BRAVE nude one-piece (with the exception of a couple very strategically placed flowers), "Give Me Everything" got the whole theatre up on their feet. But honestly, how can you not get on your feet for that song? It's addicting!

Pitbull and Ne-Yo walked down the VMA runway together as a troupe of dancing ladies followed them, lighting up the audience. The whole theatre was fist pumping as "Give Me Everything" came to a close, while green lasers spanned the entire audience, spy movie style. Everyone was on their feet as Nayer joined Pitbull and Ne-Yo on the runway and the trio closed out the club jam without a hair out of place. In other words, they gave us EVERYTHING TONIGHT!!!
