Tour videos are always effective, but not every artist's tour video boasts cameos from Kanye West, Jay-Z, Cee Lo, and Avril Lavigne. Rihanna rolls mad DEEP, guys.
Co-written by Corey "Chorus" Gibson (Kelly Rowland, Ciara, Brandy), "Cheers" samples the hook from Avril Lavigne's 2002 hit "I'm With You" and is truly a song about partying hard. So it seems only natural that the video divides its time between raw footage of Rihanna killing her "Loud" tour and Rihanna partying it up during a recent jaunt to her native Barbados.
In the behind-the-scenes footage, Rihanna is shown singing to throngs of cheering fans, boarding luxe private jets, being escorted by security guards, and signing her name on massive restaurant walls. You know, run-of-the-mill famous people activities. Oh, and she also finds time to sit on guest audience member Cee-Lo's lap and share her "Loud" stage with Kanye and Jay-Z. Baller status.
In the Barbados portion of the vid, Rihanna relaxes with family and friends. She drinks coconut water from a coconut (cheating on Vita Coco!), does karaoke in a bar with her pals, and swims in the ocean like the island girl that she is. Oh,and there is that one pool party with Avril Lavigne, NBD. Basically, "Cheers" is what you wish every weekend was like.
A few hours after its premiere, Rihanna took to Twitter to share her excitement: "CHEERS... U like??? #drinktothat #RihannaNavy I love yall forever!!!!! Keep making me proud!" We'll totes drink (some Vita Coco) to that, gurl.

Fans of "Fab 5" alum Mac Miller probably already follow him on Twitter, but if not, the Pittsburgh rapper's been dangling some carrots to potential followers. For every 100,000 new followers, Miller releases an extra track not found on his upcoming debut album Blue Slide Park. After hitting the 800,000 mark, the 19-year-old dropped "Cold Feet," a brisk, cosmic track that should satiate fans until Blue Slide's release.
Produced by rising Baltimore producer Clams Casino, "Cold Feet" showcases the best use of a whistle sound effect since Juelz Santana's "There It Go (The Whistle Song)." "I rap better 'cause I'm mad clever," Miller starts the one-verse song. We can't argue with that. Miller mostly rhymes about girls in a way that would make his parents blush -- the higher-ups banned us from repeating the lyrics -- but finds time to pay tribute to his favorite medicinal herb. Priorities!
Blue Slide Park is scheduled for release this fall via Rostrum Records.

As if we hadn't experienced enough excitement when we learned that Beyonce will be performing at this year's VMAs, girl has gone and one-upped herself! Queen B surprised fans with a brand new music video for her sultry hit,"1+1" from her latest album, 4. Take notes, folks. Surprising the world with music videos over night (just before your VMA performance!) is how you become a diva.
Co-directed by Beyonce herself, the ballad's video is one of her most powerful to date. Right from the start, the clip offers a close-up of the singer glistening in front of a dark background. Her eye contact, exposed shoulders, and flowing hair suggest a vulnerable side to the star that fans might miss in her often more choreographed numbers.
As "1+1" progresses, B provides more sensual poses amidst waterfalls, glitter, and soft lights while experiencing emotional bliss singing her song: "Hey, I don't know much about guns but I, I've been shot by you/Hey, and I don't know when I'm gon' die, but I hope that I'm gon' die by you." No one else shares the camera with Beyonce, making it seem like she's serenading us (dream come true!) or possibly her man, Jay-Z. When you're one of the richest women in the world, you can make expensive music video love letters for your hubby any time you so please.
Whoever it is that Beyonce's singing to in "1+1" knows hot to get her worked up, because halfway through the song she begins to cry as she pleads for someone "to make love" to her. And in case you were wondering, yes, she's one of those people who still look pretty when they sob. OF COURSE.
+ Watch Beyonce's "1+1" video below, and watch Beyonce's performance at the 2011 MTV VMAs live from Nokia Theatre L.A. in Los Angeles on Sunday, Aug. 28, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV and MTV.com. Catch the live preshow at 8 p.m. ET/PT and cast your votes for Best New Artist up until the show airs!

Demi Lovato is seriously becoming the epitome of cool, guys. Not only is everyone losing their marbles over the epic-ness that is her new single "Skyscraper" (as they should!), but she recently just threw herself a glam rock birthday party, revealed her beautiful Unbroken album cover art, and now we see her in this photo riding her bike (a cruiser, too!) to a diner in L.A. yesterday. Also, the sunglasses? Come on. Commence girl crush.
Also, let's talk about the fact that Demi is wearing a freaking sweatshirt and it still somehow looks California cool and casual on her. Why does this not happen for me? Maybe I'm investing in the wrong cotton pieces, because most of my sweatshirts look like Cosby sweaters. Spill your lounge chic secrets, Demi! And send me the link to where you got those shades.

+ In her relatively short career, Lady Gaga has already had many memorable moments at the VMAs. But the one that stands out to her is her win for Best New Artist in 2009. "I just remember that I won and I was surprised and I was really taken aback." (MTV News)
+ In case you don't get your fill of Nicki Minaj at the VMAs, she, David Guetta and Flo Rida will perform their collab "Where Them Girls At" on "America's Got Talent" August 31. It's their debut performance of the song. (Rap-Up)
+ None of us should be surprised that Lady Gaga is among the "World's 100 Most Powerful Women" as Forbes' list indicates. That she ranked higher (#11) than any other female entertainer is quite impressive. (E!)
+ Joe Jonas just revealed the cover of his forthcoming album, Fastlife, on his website via a puzzle fans can unscramble. (ONTD)
+ Next month is Nirvana's 20th anniversary of Nevermind and surviving members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic and producer Butch Vig will be on Sirius XM on September 24 to field questions from a studio audience and callers. Jon Stewart will host. (Rolling Stone)

Hokay, Internet. Everybody CTFO... Or actually... DON'T! It's the VMA moment before the VMAs you've all been waiting for. VMA seat cards are up, and we've got all of the photos! They're all set up in their places in the place of the places where the VMA's biggest stars will sit inside of the Nokia Theater this Sunday night!
Is a two-dimensional piece of tagboard with a photo of, say Nicki Minaj or Kim Kardashian more exciting than the real-life three-dimensional human (or super-human, actually) versions of Nicki Minaj and Kim Kardashian? Of course not! But the VMA floor will be absolutely packed with celebrities. Celebrities mingling, gossiping, air-kissing, tweeting, dealing with the just-like-us mortal wound of becoming massively starstruck at the mere sight of Beyonce's stunningness. The celebrity action and camaraderie on the VMA floor is like the equivalent of the dizzying din of a high school cafeteria on the first day back to school. Except there's champagne, no lunch, and people like Justin Bieber and VMA Pre-Show host Selena Gomez don't go to your high school.
The reveal of the VMA seat cards are a yearly rite of passage that means that the VMAs are thisclose and that we're saving a seat for celebrities like Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, your favorite Jersey Shore cast of characters, and even legends like Tony Bennett. (Seriously.)
Tide yourself over until actual celebrities sit in their actual seats at the VMAs by checking out photos of the 2011 MTV VMA celebrity seat cards to see who's got a direct view of Beyonce, who may not be able to see over Bruno Mars' impressively tall hair, who'll be sitting next to Joe Jonas (me, duh), and who's should come wearing body armor because they're sitting next to Odd Future.

Pitbull's fully and undeniably pretty dominating. Everything. He's crushing charts and airwaves (oh yeah and the Internet, at over 3 million downloads and rising) right now with his unstoppably huge hit, "Give Me Everything," and at this point he's officially earned his nickname, Mr. Worldwide. To watch Pitbull in action is to watch a man on top of his game and on top of the world. But when Pitbull steps onto the VMA stage to perform "Give Me Everything" this Sunday night, he's gonna have the world at his feet. As well as a couple of seriously sexy (and highly flexible) dancers.
While I was lucky enough to sit in on Pitbull's VMA rehearsal (having had "Give Me Everything" stuck on repeat in my head since March, I was totally fine with the opportunity to hear it live several times in rehearsal) I can't give away too much of what's going to happen VMA night other than to confirm that the golden-voiced Ne-Yo and the seriously sexy newcomer Nayer will join him and that the performance will be a full-blown spectacle.

The VMAs are home to some of the most memorable moments in pop music and pop culture history. From the time Madonna stunned audiences at the very first VMAs in 1984, hitting the stage in risque bridal attire for her "Like A Virgin" performance, Eminem's army of Eminems at the 2000 VMAs, Britney and Madonna's jaw-dropping kiss in 2003, through Lady Gaga's almost unbelievable meat dress at the 2010 VMAs, the VMAs are known for leaving an indelible mark on the pop landscape.
So, we approach the 28th VMAs, to honor the VMA's rich tradition of leaving people talking (and wondering what meat feels like against human flesh), we're taking a year-by-year look at the most epic, most incredible VMA moments of all time in our MOST INCREDIBLE VMA MOMENTS EVER PHOTO GALLERY!
We've highlighted one photo from every year of the VMAs, including some of the ubiquitous stand-out moments, like Britney Spears presenting Michael Jackson with a birthday cake in 2002, as well as some of the more intimate moments backstage that you may have missed, like a very smiley Kurt Cobain getting ready for the 1992 VMAs with his Nirvana bandmates.
Check out some of our all-time favorite most epic VMAs photos, and be sure to check out the entire MOST INCREDIBLE VMA MOMENTS EVER PHOTO GALLERY! And don't forget to tune in to the VMAs this Sunday, August 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT to see what 2011 has in store.

Before Madonna was seeing "rays of light" and practicing pilates 30 hours a day, the superstar was teaching us how to "Vogue" in Victorian-era costumes at the 1990 VMAs. She's not the supposed "Queen Of Pop" for nothing -- this performance is an all-time stand-out.

No joke, we seriously thought this photo of Ciara was actually Beyonce. Like, it actually took us a couple minutes! While we've never really made the comparison before, this takes the cake for "Best Bey Look Alike Contest." Actually, we'd like to attend that contest and be a judge. Could you even imagine the insane amounts of gowns, heels and wind machines in one room? SO. MUCH. SMIZING.
While leaving her downtown NYC hotel, the "Gimmie Dat" singer grabbed photographers' attention with her fresh-tah-death look. Ciara may resemble Beyonce here, but girl can hold her own when it comes to strutting in those MAYJAH pumps, leather pants (that we know she can pull of 'cause we've seen her killer bikini bod) and diva shades. Girl is ON POINT.
And forgive us, Cici, but we have to ask: Where's the new music, boo? We are dying for new tunes over here. Wait! We have an idea -- pair up with Beyonce! I'm pretty sure this is what she had in mind with the whole "girls running the world" thing. Ciara and Beyonce together -- give us dat.
When the plane carrying R&B star Aaliyah and eight others crashed killing everyone on board 10 years ago today, the music world lost one of its most gifted voices. A decade later, Aaliyah's style, beauty, voice and music continues to inspire a generation of artists.
The daughter of a vocalist and niece of music industry attorney Barry Hankerson, Aaliyah Dana Haughton got her first break as a child, singing for Gladys Knight. Recognizing her extraordinary talent, Hankerson signed the songstress to his Blackground Records, who released the singer's debut album, Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number, in 1994. Age, written and produced by R. Kelly, mixed standard R&B with the bouncier, hip-hop rhythms or New Jack Swing and would establish the singer as a vital and graceful R&B singer.
But it was her work with Timbaland and Missy Elliott on 1996's One In a Million that would catapult her into legendary status. The singer deftly bent and adjusted her voice to Timbaland's futuristic production, anchored by skittering drums and ingenious samples, that helped define late ’90s R&B. A self-titled album would follow in 2001.
The awards came quickly, with the singer earning five Grammy nominations and winning two MTV Video Music Awards for 2000's massive hit "Try Again." At the same time, an acclaimed acting performance in Romeo Must Die encouraged the singer to pursue more acting roles, including a posthumously released lead role in vampire film Queen of the Damned.
Despite a scant discography, the singer's impact -- a mix of unyielding gracefulness and earnest candor -- can be felt in everyone from Beyoncé to Drake. Besides her myriad accomplishments, there's probably a greater sense of loss at the unrealized potential of a singer killed at age 22. One can only speculate on which directions her career would have gone, but for countless fans, the singer's sparse body of work is as much of a tease as a consolation.
