If you didn't know that newest Maybach Music Group rapper and Fab 5 alum Meek Mill was a boss, he will tell you -- over and over and over again -- in the video premiere of "Ima Boss" with rapper (and his actual boss) Rick Ross.
Originally found on the collaboration album Self-Made, Vol. 1, the video for "Ima Boss" celebrates Meek's native Philadelphia, shooting on location on various streets. The Benny Boom-directed clip features many boss-like activities, such as driving around in a Maybach (like a boss), popping a wheelie on your bike (like a boss) and rhyming in front of a Philly cheesesteak spot (like a boss).
We're worried, though, that the repeated refrain of the title will spark a new wave of awful boss-related humor from the over-50 set trying to be funny. Much like corporate America appropriated and hijacked words like "bling" to devalue and eventually neuter the word, we can imagine every assistant to the regional manager yelling, Meek Mill-style that he's "THE BOSS of the mail room." Please, America, just let Meek and Ross have this one, OK?
Meek Mill is currently prepping his official solo debut.
