This summer we brought you Gym Class Heroes' bangin' new single and video "Stereo Hearts," featuring Maroon 5's Adam Levine. Co-produced by hitmaker Benny Blanco and duo ROBOPOP (Lana Del Rey, CashCash) the original version was like, stuck in our heads for forever so we weren't actually convinced it could get any better. Well, we were wrong -- "Stereo Hearts" just got a makeover courtesy of Canadian singer Anjulie, and we're all about it. The new version still prominently features Adam Levine's vocal on the hook but it intertwines Anjulie's vocals and singy-speaky rhymes, adding a hip-hop flair to the track.
In her creative remake, Anjulie rhymes about her (imaginary?) famous powerhouse BF: "Let me introduce you to my boyfriend/Yeah, I know you heard of him/All over your TV/And the paparazzi murder him." According to Anjulie, while this hot celeb dude could have dated an "A-list, bombshell model chick," he likes her "quick wit." See? Not alllll famous people are into models. Score one for Team Normal.
At the end of the record, the topic switches to Anjulie's budding music career and her dedication to making it big: "To keep on climbing higher/I have to sing even wider.../I've never been more inspired/No I've never been more on fire/Turn my mic on." Clearly, her "newcomer" status doesn't phase Anjulie one bit as it sounds like she's got all the confidence of a pop music veteran. Get it, gurl.
