Landing a song on the lucrative (and instantly chart-topping) "Twilight" soundtrack is kind of like winning the lottery. Or getting asked to the prom as a freshman. Or running into your ex while looking superhot. We're saying it's basically the best day of your life.
Enter Bruno Mars. Today we have his contribution to the forthcoming Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part I soundtrack, "It Will Rain," a dramatic, eerie and moody record that's juuuust angsty enough to go along with the (INCREDIBLE) melodrama that awaits. In his raspy and gritty voice Bruno sings, "If you ever leave me, baby/Leave some morphine at my door/'Cause it would take a whole lotta medication/To realize what we use to have we don't have it anymore." Hm, I wonder if he's talking about the painful realization that Bella can't be with Jacob? Or maybe he's referring to Edward's torment over the fact that some part of Bella will always love a wolf? YES, I've read all the books, and NO, I'm not ashamed!
In a recent interview Bruno described, "The 'Twilight' movies for me (are) a love story. But it's a dark love story. And I think the best way to describe the song is: it's the darker side of love." We totally agree, and the only pertinent thing left to say is "Team Jacob 4 LYFE!!"
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part I hits stores Nov. 8. Look out for the Bruno Mars' "It Will Rain" along with original songs by Christina Perri and Theophilus London.

It's been a minute since we've seen a new music video from Adele. But you can't really blame her. Adele's 2010 release of "Rolling In The Deep," the debut single off of her latest, record-breaking album, 21, has carried her pretty far. Not only was it the most nominated video at this year's MTV VMAs, but the song itself has gone to No. 1 in like, every country. Not bad for a sophomore effort.
But thankfully for Adele fans (who basically consist of the entire world), today we get to see her pretty face on screen again in her latest video, "Someone Like You." We got our hands on the sneak peek, and even though it's only 30 seconds, it's still enough to make you want to text your ex.
The video opens on a black-and-white scene. The camera fades in as the melancholy song starts, and we see Adele walking slowing along a river walk on a windy day in Europe. She looks out into the distance as the song starts: "I heard that you're settled down/That you found a girl/And you're married now." Annnnd cue the waterworks.
+ Watch a preview of Adele's "Someone Like You" video below and catch the full-length premiere of "Someone Like You" this Thursday, Sept. 29, at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV.

After taking home the "Best New Band" prize at the 2010 Austin Music Awards, SPEAK's star is rising to unSPEAKable heights (LOL). While their records are rooted in synth-laden dance-pop, lead singer Troupe Gammage's vocals have more of an indie twang. In other words, SPEAK caters to both the hipsters and to the pop music lovers. Such a fortuitous PR move.
In their new song "You Know As Well," lead singer Troupe casually croons as only a true indie frontman can: "You know as well as I/I got your back/You seen the way I operate without your help/You know as well as I/I'm built to last/You know that I disintegrate too fast." While these statements could just be a list of personal attributes, we kinda, sorta, mayyyybe think this is a love song in disguise, which endears us to Troupe and the band (even more than their photos have). The boys reveal a bit more about this potential love song in the chorus: "'Cause I believe in everything/I guess 'cause its the only thing I know/If you believed in anything/Then you could leave the little things to me." Ugh, we always have to have a soft spot for the shy, reserved, vaguely poetic dude.
"You Know As Well" is featured on the band's latest album, I Believe In Everything, due out Sept. 27.

I remember back in the '90s when I would come home from middle school and see No Doubt's "Spiderwebs" video playing on MTV. Half of me was like, "Who is this crazy chick?" and half of me was like, "I want to be this crazy chick." Nearly 20 years later, not much has changed! Gwen Stefani is still the epitome of cool. Pretty sure she will be forever, guys.
Gwen was spotted arriving at a doctor's office in London yesterday, and she's in the perfect seasonal outfit -- black loafers, black skinnies and a black bag paired with a Cosby-inspired sweater, a peacoat and a leather jacket. And this is just her doctor's office outfit. Not fair.
Looks like somewhere in the world is actually experiencing the season known as fall and isn't still sweating through their underwear on the way to work like most of America right now (SO JEALZ). Although when you're Gwen Stefani, I guess you can just fly to where they actually experience somewhat non-disgusting weather. Must be nice.

+ The fake gun Britney Spears wielded during her "Criminal" video shoot in the UK upset some folks who felt that it glamorized violence in the wake of London's riots. Spears' camp responded: "The video is a fantasy story...which literally plays out the lyrics of a song written three years before the riots ever happened." (MTV News)

Where does Rihanna go when she needs a quiet place to seductively pose think? She finds a rural field in the middle of nowhere, of course. While we'd like to imagine she was spending her weekend hitting up hayrides at a pumpkin farm for fun fall festivities, Rihanna was actually shooting scenes for her upcoming "We Found Love" music video in Dublin. (Hold up, you haven't heard "We Found Love" yet? GET ON THAT.) Wait. Wasn't Rihanna JUST in Brazil? Boo MUST be racking those frequent-flier miles.

The "Cheers (Drink To That)" singer was snapped romping through fields working rural chic like a pro. Her faded denim and oversize flannel shirt were just teasers, folks! She takes it to the next level (would we expect anything less from RiRi?) by popping open her workman's duds to expose a red bandanna (the kind usually reserved for stock images of hobos) bra and matching red underwear. We get it, girl -- farmer tans are the WORST. Also, Rihanna, if you're attempting to channel the sexiest scarecrow in the world, well, IT'S TOTALLY WORKING.

We're willing to bet some major cash that Halloween is Katy Perry's favorite holiday. She's always changing her hair color, dressing like candy, and just last week she wore a semi-creepy fruit lady mask at the airport -- and that was on a regular old Thursday! Fame means wearing anything you want any day of the week, guys.
Katy sports the best costumes (on and off the stage) all year round, and she didn't disappoint with her black kitty getup while on stage at her concert in Brazil recently. She didn't just show up with your basic feline fashions from the costume aisle at the drugstore, obvs. Instead, the "E.T" singer dazzled fans with a sleek black one-piece adorned with glittered ear, tail and belt accessories. It's the perfect mix of fashionable and tough, like Catwoman! Plus, it's decorated with just enough glitter to make our favorite sparkle lover, Ke$ha, proud.
While some trick-or-treaters dressed in sexy costumes can come off borderline gross (no offense), Katy pulls off the "sultry kitten" costume flawlessly. Actually, she could mix and match all of her costumes (but not that creepy mask from the airport) and still look hot.

Summer is over, and by now you're probably in withdrawal from flip-flops, ice pops and wearing white without being judged and ostracized. Don't blame it on global warming, guys -- just blame it on September! Or at least that's how Allstar Weekend suggests we cope.
With a perfectly timed release, "Blame It On September" rues an expired summer romance. But instead of blaming the split on all the crazy ish your ex has done to you, Allstar Weekend firmly believes it's the month of September's fault: "Waves get louder/I'm lost without her/This summer starts to end/Let's blame it on September/'Cause it hurts to remember/We can fight to hold on/But August is gone.../Cause no summer lasts forever."
The video mainly consists of a flashback to all the fun summer activities a cute, young couple could ever dream of. There's the outdoor carnival, the bike riding, the driving with the top down and the couple-y movie night with friends. Oh, and naturally the female lead sported some salt water laden hair, effortless tank tops and makeup that magically didn't sweat down her face. The video comes to a close with a gratuitous shot of the couple having a quintessential summer picnic while reclining on the grass and looking up at the balmy summer sky (and they're both still NOT sweating).
Personally, I couldn't say peace out to NYC's humid summer fast enough. But I guess if we'd had a hot summer fling we'd still pine away for that sweaty amazing season, too.
Allstar Weekend’s forthcoming album, All the Way, hits stores September 27.

We've long lobbied in earnest for Weird Al Yankovic's inclusion in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. How many acts can claim consistent popularity for more than 25 years? And as the new video for Yankovic's "Polka Face" shows, the parody master hasn't rested on old material as he remains current and completely hilarious.
For those not up on Yankovic's discography, the accordion player always includes a polka medley of the era's most popular songs on each album. With his last album released five years ago, "Polka Face" ends up as a compendium of the past half-decade's hits, including Justin Bieber's "Baby," Britney Spears' "Womanizer," Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl" and, quiet naturally, Lady Gaga's "Poker Face."
The accompanying video plays, like 20 clips in one, with each new parody getting its own unique style of animation ranging from puppet to giant robot to literal -- Bieber as an actual baby. Easy, yet still funny. The hyperactive, ADHD-styled clip ensures you won't get bored. And if you don't support Weird Al, well, we'll officially blame you for having no sense of humor.
Alpocalypse is out now on Volcano Records, and "Weird Al Yankovic Live! The Alpocalypse Tour" DVD hits stores Oct. 4.

Sure, Bruno Mars has had a bunch of top 10 hits, he's won himself a Grammy (he's been nominated for seven of them!) and he's set to play a starring role on the upcoming "Breaking Dawn" soundtrack. But what accomplished musician doesn't also want a cake of an old timey microphone with his name on it?! I know I would!
Bruno was in Las Vegas this weekend for the iHeartRadio festival, and in between getting down and celebrating with fans, the Bank nightclub at the Bellagio presented Mr. Mars with this fancy cake. And he took a photo with it, like the good sport that he is.
But we want to know what he was thinking! I took a stab at it below, but let us know what you think Bruno is wondering as he tries as hard as possible not to actually put his mouth on that cake:
+ "Um, guys, the proportion on this microphone is like, way off. Who's the intern you let do this? Fire him."
+ "Did Tyler, The Creator ever get one of these hand-delivered to him at the Bellagio? Just wondering..."
+ "Seriously?"
