Even after hearing just two tracks off of his upcoming album Soul Punk, Patrick Stump's is one of our most-anticipated fall albums. As a "thank you" to fans after they got him to more than 100,000 "likes" on Facebook, Patrick unveiled one more song from his upcoming debut solo album, titled "Allie." And I don't know who Allie is, but I'd like to have some words with her.
Unlike the anthemic lead single "This City" or the frenetic "Explode," "Allie" slows it down and puts Patrick Stump's falsetto at center stage. The R&B-tinged mid-tempo track finds Patrick recalling a relationship with a girl who had a bit more experience than he did. And I don't mean cooking experience: "'Cause Allie, I was so good back then/But I wonder if I'd be so good if I saw you again/Listen miss, you got me/You shoulda taught me such naughty things/You coulda taught me such naughty things." This just in: Patrick Stump is the only person on the planet who doesn't make me hate the word "naughty."
"Allie" is a little bit reminiscent of a B-side from Michael Jackson's Off The Wall mixed with some of Prince's overt sexuality sly innuendos. In other words, it's basically a "seven minutes in heaven" soundtrack.
