Sadly, Nicki Minaj and Drake's Twitter marriage turned out to be fake, so we'll just have to accept the next best thing: a real-life collabo on Drake's new club jam, "Make Me Proud." The song is slated to appear on his forthcoming album, Take Care, out Nov. 15.
Drake, who'll be performing on "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, dedicates "Make Me Proud" to all his special ladies. Sure, he raps about how hot some chicks can be but mainly, Drake is hyper focused on instilling women with self-esteem and pride: "I know things get hard/But, girl, you got it.../Can't you tell by how they looking at you everywhere you go/Wondering what's on your mind.../And all I can say is/I'm so, I'm so, I'm, so, I'm so, I'm so proud of you." Drake's wifey Nicki chimes in and confidently toots her own horn while rhyming about all her badass entrepreneurial ventures: "It's M.A.C., OPI and fragrance too!" Girl runs businesses, hello.
Drake admitted to Funkmaster Flex during his HOT97 radio show, "A girl whose opinion I respect greatly... was like 'There's nothing on the radio for us right now… There's nothing to make women feel good like they did when we had 'Best I Ever Had'... This is a moment. Go out there and make me proud, baby. Any girl, anybody out there doing anything for yourself.'"
Aww, shucks. Thanks, Drizzy! But, question: Does "doing something for myself" constitute spearheading my own personal campaign to get you to date me? It's a legit LLC and everything. Let me know.
