Paramore recently debuted their new song "Renegade" live at their record label Fueled By Ramen's 15th Anniversary Concert: Paramore Live. But the band has released the studio version of the song, which, in true Paramore form, does NOT disappoint even a little.
"Renegade" is a biting, lively and superslick pop-rock song. Recorded with "Monster" producer Rob Cavallo, Paramore's frontwoman Hayley Williams sings the HELL outta her new song and clearly isn't phased by former bandmates Josh and Zac Farro's departure. Hayley roars through the hook and admits she's been a badass from the very start: "I'm running again/And when I get there/It won't be far enough/I'm a renegade/It's in my blood/If ever I get there/It won't be fast enough/I'm a renegade/I always was." The song's instrumentation is tight and polished -- no strum or pluck sounds out of place, which not only cements "Renegade's" future spot on my "All Renegade" playlist but also sends a message to Paramore's dearly departed Farro brothers that like, the band has stuff under control.
For die-hard Paramore fans, waiting for this new record to come out is complete torture. But at least now we have a studio version of "Renegade," and thankfully MP3s can't wear out.
