In "Sing For Me," the latest video off Yellowcard's When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes album, the Los Angeles-via-Jacksonville, Florida punk-pop quintet showcases their motivational and inspirational side. The group intersperses footage of the band with a cavalcade of motivational aphorisms and messages from those who have seemingly overcame difficult obstacles.
Directed by Robby Starbuck, who's helmed videos for Smashing Pumpkins, Breathe Carolina and Metric among many others, "Sing For Me" features what appears to be non-actors holding affirming homemade signs like "Realizing I am beautiful the way God made me" and "My family and friends give me strength."
It may seem cryptic until you learn the song's backstory: "Sing For Me" was written from the perspective of singer Ryan Key's terminally ill aunt Stephanie, who passed away earlier this year from brain cancer and was previously mentioned in "Rock Star Land" from 2001's One for the Kids. The video features poignant goodbye messages from the band and others including "I miss my friend" and "I miss you #82" along with presumable survivors wearing T-shirts that say "It's a miracle I'm alive." The blunt message from Key: "F*** Cancer."

So remember last week when we told you about "The MTV Iggy Show," which sees actress and sword swallower Heather Holliday travelling the world to hunt down the coolest music acts from around the globe? Well, welcome to Episode 2 of "The Iggy Show" with artists from Mexico, Nigeria and Brazil.
First up, we've got Ximena Sarinana, a Mexican indie-pop singer who's already gone platinum in her home country. Sarinana sings in Spanish and English and has been starting to get a nice buzz stateside. Next up is Nigerian singer/rapper Nneka, whose music melds the soul of Lauryn Hill with traditional Nigerian rhythms. If you haven't heard the singer's ridiculously catchy 2008 hit "Heartbeart," just take three minutes and listen. Then listen again. Finally, we go down to Brazil to meet electronic music producer Gui Boratto, whose 2007 dance music anthem "Beautiful Life" blew him up and now allows him to play in front of 30,000 people. He admits that the original vocals, sung by his wife, were "super cheesy" at first until he asked her to lay down on the sofa and recorded her. A hit was born.
Sure, we're biased but trust us: "The MTV Iggy Show" is quickly becoming your weekly stop to get up to date on all the latest musical around the world. It's kinda like your passport to musical cred. Watch now. Thank us later.

With pregnancy rumors swirling around her, Jessica Simpson fueled the fire when she stepped out in New York earlier today in a loose-fitting top with her hand over her stomach. While everyone is still waiting for an official pregnancy announcement, isn't the ol' "hand over the stomach" move universal for "I'm expecting, y'all"? It was the last time we checked. On the contrary, maybe not. I spent half of my weekend with my hand over my stomach -- jalapeno poppers after 2 a.m. are NEVER OK.
Pregnant or not, Jessica looked chic in all-black everything save for yellow shades and a leopard-print purse, which we are coveting LIKE WHOA. In her defense, maybe Jessica doesn't know that EVERYONE's talking about her supposed bun in the oven. Maybe her internet has been out for a month? Or perhaps she hasn't been inside of a drugstore/grocery store/gas station/any other place in America that carries magazines for a few weeks? In case she is pregnant and just waiting for the perfect time to say something, may we suggest during an award show?

French speakers may get a vastly different interpretation of British rock quintet You Me At Six's latest track "Little Death" than their English counterparts. While lyrics like, "We are not your lovers/We are not your friends/We are just sinners and we're condemned to death/We are not your lovers/We are not your friends/Forget what you believe in/'Cause this is the end" conjure up self-pitying tales of bleak desperation and mortality, singer Josh Francheschi recently noted the title's more direct meaning as a French idiom for, um, uh, this delicious cocktail of the same name.
The group already scored a hit with "Loverboy" a few weeks back. The midtempo, anthemic "Little Death" is already blowing up overseas, with the band, who recently received Kerrang Magazine's award for Best British Band (no big deal!), aiming to replicate their success Stateside. But it still should get U.S. fans of the Surrey group pogoing (trust us, it's a thing) in no time.
After main stage performances at monstrous UK festivals Reading and Leeds and last year's Vans Warped Tour, the group embarks on a cross-country U.S. tour starting tomorrow, where fans can preview tracks from the new album, Sinners Never Sleep.
Sinners Never Sleep, the group's third album, is out Jan. 24 on Virgin.

Whether you like it or not, it's time to whip out the twinkle lights and nativity scenes, y'all! Thanks to Justin Bieber and his BFF Usher, X-Mas is here in a BIG way. Justin Bieber's Christmas extravaganza album Under The Mistletoe isn't even officially out yet, but it's basically driving the entire world our whole office crazy with anticipation. We've already lost it for Justin's "Mistletoe" video, and today we're completely overcome by holiday cheer thanks to Justin and Usher's duet, "The Christmas Song" (you know, the old-timey ballad about chestnuts and open fires and stuff).
Made famous in 1946 by legend Nat King Cole, "The Christmas Song" has been rerecorded countless times by such greats as Tony Bennett, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston. But we have a sneaky suspicion that Justin and Usher's sparkly R&B/pop take on the old standard will become an American insta-classic (or at least No. 1 on iTunes, duh). The song begins with Justin's pitch-perfect vocals adding some impressive riffs to the song's famous opening line: "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire/Jack Frost nipping at your nose/Yuletide carols being sung by a choir/And folks dressed up like Eskimos." Usher infuses the pre-chorus with his R&B croon until the two join together in perfect holiday-swag harmony: "And so I'm offering this simple phrase/To kids from one to 92/Although it's been said many times, many ways/Merry Christmas to you." Look, I may be Jewish, but this holiday jam is THA TRUTH!

It seems that Destiny's Child's child is to be nurtured and attended to in a nursery so enormous that it rivals the square footage of our parents' house in the suburban Philly. A nursery that measures around 2,200 square feet, in fact. BET.com reports that Jay-Z and Beyoncé are adding a "gargantuan nursery to their New York City home, so the little one can sleep and poop in style." (LOL!) It seems, in the sage words of Jay-Z, there will be some "love, in the heart of the city" for this little tyke, certainly in terms of real estate.
We envision a most Regina George of "Mean Girls" spread for Beyoncé's baby, which is due February 2012. We hope this room alone will spark the creation of a new MTV show called "Baby Cribs" so we can get a tour of the finished area, in all its decked-out glory, Diaper Genie and all! I mean, you wouldn't expect offspring of this caliber to endure tummy time in a pedestrian nursery room, would you? This baby is AMERICAN ROYALTY and requires a suite!
Even at his/her crankiest, Jay-Z and Beyoncé's baby (Baybeyoncé!) may have 99 problems, but a pimped-out chamber surely won't be one. This news effectively answers the age-old question as posed by Beyoncé: Who run the world? JAY-Z AND BEYONCÉ'S BABY. From his or her extremely major infant headquarters.

There's a small part of us that wants to tell Beyoncé to slow down. Girlfriend, you are PREGGO! A real-life, budding mogul is growing in your body -- you need rest! But there's also a small part of us that's like, so thankful Beyoncé is a workaholic, because she keeps churning out the best songs and videos (read: "Countdown," "Love On Top").
We first told you about Beyoncé's Andre 3000 /Kanye West supported jam "Party" this summer, and today we've got the "Party" remix featuring verses by recent MTV Push alum J. Cole. Some might argue that J. Cole only got this gig cause he's signed to Bey's hubby Jay-Z Roc Nation label, but once you hear Mr. Cole's inimitable swag, you realize this dude's rhyme game is on point: “We out in Abu Dhabi/We like to party/We don't cause trouble/We just ride Bugatti/Bad chick shawty/Sort of resemble Sade." Beyoncé's vocals haven't changed on the remix, but then again, why would they? THEY'RE ALREADY PERFECT.
If this remix is getting you into the party zone, then brace yourselves for the video -- yes, ANOTHER ONE -- set to premiere on BET's "106 & Park" tomorrow, Oct. 25. Did we mention Beyoncé's bestie Kelly Rowland is co-hosting this soiree? Shoot us an invite next time, Bey!
+ Listen to Beyoncé featuring J. Cole, "Party (Remix)," and catch the video premiere on BET's "106 & Park" tomorrow, Oct. 25!

Listen, I'm not saying we should be expecting a Justin Bieber/Selena Gomez marriage announcement any time soon (because I'm pretty sure that's still illegal), but I think it's safe to say things in Jelena Land are getting pretty serious. First off, we recently found out that the couple adopted a puppy together. I don't know about you guys, but people just don't go adopting puppies casually, out of boredom. Now we've come across this matching hockey jersey photo. Matching clothing in general is usually reserved for couples who like, spend the holidays together and stuff. LTR territory, people!
OK, WAIT, ENOUGH SMALL TALK! We need to address the overt sexual innuendo elephant in the room! Justin and Selena didn't get just pick any old Winnipeg Jets jerseys, slap their names on 'em and call it a day -- instead, Bieber opted for the No. 6 while Selena went with No. 9. I'll let you guys read that sentence again...
All together now: "A;DLSKFJALS;DKJF!!!!! ADLFJKA;DLKF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" THIS. CANNOT. BE. UNSEEN.

Big Time Rush's new album, Elevate, isn't out until Nov. 21, and needless to say, the wait has been really tough on both our hearts and minds. We were momentarily taken out of our misery when we got a preview of BTR's supersweet pop jam "If I Ruled The World," and today, some of our sanity is again restored thanks to "Music Sounds Better With U."
In typical BTR fashion, "Music Sounds Better With U" is a beyond addictive, polished and sugary pop song that's ready for da club -- nonalcoholic beverages only, though. Tightly layered synths and guitars pair perfectly with the track's vocals, and as the best Big Time Rush jams do, the boys sing of their love for a girl who just makes everything so much better: "No sweeter sound/Than what I've found/No perfect love/Could be more perfect than us.../It feels like/The music sounds better with you, baby/It feels right/Everything's better with you." Oh, and if you thought this song kinda sorted sounded a little familiar, that's because it samples Daft Punk's 1998 smash "Music Sounds Better." The boys told Ryan Seacrest about the sample when he premiered their new song on his website: "We took that and made it our own. We are really excited about it."
Not to pause our swoonfest over this song, but we just realized that we have yet to cast this kind of magical spell over any boy, let alone four hot famous ones. The girl the song's about must be what, 18? I'm old enough to be her mother cool older sister, so if she could let me in on her boy-snagging secrets, it would be totally helpful. Just sayin'.
