We asked you guys to vote for your Favorite Breakthrough Band of 2011, and after 2.3 million votes were cast (that’s like the entire population of Vermont voting four times each), the ultimate victor emerged: Buzzworthy readers voted A Day To Remember as their favorite breakthrough band of 2011! Congratulations, A Day To Remember and to your fans, who probably have carpal tunnel after casting close to 1 MILLION votes. (Because as any ADTR fan knows, second place sucks.)
A Day To Remember completely stormed through 2011 — aside from becoming Buzzworthy’s Favorite Breakthrough Band (I’m sure all of the guys have phoned mom crying tears of joy), A Day To Remember’s fourth studio album, What Separates Me From You, became a No. 1 Top Independent album and launched the band into hard-core superstar status, earned them more and more radio airtime, a headlining spot on the Warped Tour, sold-out shows throughout the U.K., Australia, plus a South American tour.
Congrats to A Day To Remember and to all of the A Day To Remember fans who voted for Buzzworthy’s Favorite Breakthrough Band of 2011! Unsurprisingly, you probably won’t see any signs of the band slowing down — after the new year they’re heading out on the road with Rise Against on a tour that’ll take them through the U.S. and into Thailand and back to Australia (no big deal!). And plans are in the works for their fifth album. Classic overachiever mode.
