Adelaide rockers Atlas Genius stopped by MTV’s “120 Minutes” to perform an acoustic version of their current single, “Trojans,” and lucky for us, it became a music video. Though the band is made up of four — and might I add, extremely attractive — men, this acoustic video only features lead vocalist Keith and was filmed by the band’s drummer Mike. Big ups for making it a group effort, guys!
While the recorded version of “Trojans” is driven by drums and layered with tight harmonies, we’re digging on this sparse yet moving acoustic rendition. Lead vocalist Keith’s voice is sweet but packed with intention. Plus, even without all the bells and whistles, you can just tell the hook on “Trojans” is completely addictive (Read: It’s been in my head on repeat FOR DAYS). “Write a song/Make a note/For the lump that sits inside your throat/Change the locks/Change the scene/Change it all but can’t change what we’ve been/Your trojan’s in my head.”
Admittedly, I’m not quite sure what the eff it means to have a “Trojan in your head,” but obvious horse and condom jokes aside, I also don’t care! The song will undoubtedly solidify this band as one to watch. And did I mention they’re really pretty?
+ Watch Atlas Genius, “Trojans.”
