Rihanna and Taylor Swift both top the MTV EMA 2012 nominee list!!

Ok, guys. Are you ready? Because we have some veryyy exciting newz to share. So… the MTV EMA are back!! For those of you who don’t already know, the MTV EMA is a worldwide celebration of the year’s hottest artists, bringing together music fans on a global scale (not to mention the opportune time to behave like the total Europhiles we are). And guess what else? The nominees are IN. Ready to find out who they are? ::Adjusts beret::

For the EMA 2012, Rihanna and Taylor Swift each topped the nom list with six and five nods, respectively, while Justin Bieber and Katy Perry snagged four EMA nominations apiece. On the Best Video side, nominees include M.I.A.‘s “Bad Girls,” Lady Gaga‘s “Marry The Night,” Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake,” Rihanna and Calvin Harris‘ “We Found Love,” and Psy‘s infamous “Gangnam Style.” Also, Rita Ora, fun., One Direction, Lana Del Rey and Carly Rae Jepsen are all up for Best New.

What’s more, Directioners and Beliebers alike have been voting since August 30 to help us narrow down a list of 20 nominees in the “Biggest Fans” category — and now we have the final five: they include Justin Bieber, One Direction, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Katy Perry. (Uh oh…can Bieber and One Direction survive another fan vote? They totally JUST recovered from their battle for the “Most Share-Worthy Video” VMA title!)
