Listen to “Die Young,” Ke$ha’s brand-new pop anthem.
If you’re a Ke$ha fan, then you know how PAINFUL it’s been waiting for Ke$ha’s new single “Die Young” to drop in full. The “Blow” singer has been mercilessly tormenting us (can you tell I’m feeling a tad dramatic this AM?) by whistling the melody to her new song on a train in Tokyo, unleashing the “Die Young” cover art, and now, FINALLY, the song’s full-length version. And that’s a good thing, because I might have “died young” waiting! Ba dum, CHING!
Listen to Ke$ha’s “Die Young” after the jump.
If you’re a fan of the perfectly crafted, clurrrb-ready pop song (slash do we know anyone who ISN’T a fan of that??), then you’re basically gonna lose it over “Die Young.” Produced by Ke$ha’s longtime pal and collaborator Dr. Luke, “Die Young” is the perfect choice of lead single off Ke$ha’s forthcoming Warrior disc (set to hit stores Dec. 4). Laced with ’80s-friendly synths, the song reminds us of Flo Rida‘s “Good Feeling” with a tad of Jessie J‘s sunny “Domino.” As the bass kicks in, “Die Young” becomes a bona fide banger as Ke$ha sings, “So while you’re here in my arms/ Let’s make the most of the night like we’re gonna die young/ We’re gonna die young.”
So do we think “Die Young” is pushing Ke$ha toward new sonic heights? Not particularly. But remember when Ke$ha set all kinda of records? Those may have been broken by Taylor Swift, but Ke$ha still set ’em! If it ain’t broke, don’t change producers.
