Literally in heaven right now. Do not disturb.
In anticipation of the 2013 MTV EMA, airing this Sunday at 7 p.m. ET on MTV, we’re doing two things: 1.) FUH-RAYYYYYYYYYYKIN’ OUUUUUUUUUUT. 2.) Celebrating MTV’s international awards show with a look back our favorite EMA moments… in GIFs!
For today’s flashback, we take you back to 1999 — specifically, Ms. Britney Spears‘ medley performance of “…Baby One More Time” and “(You Drive Me) Crazy” at the Dublin-hosted MTV EMA that year. Occurring on the cusp of the new
Willennium Millennium, Brit-Brit’s performance proved that even at the age of 17, she knew the meaning of the words “Work B**ch.”
While Britney’s signature Spearitual hand choreo was as developed in 1999 as it is today, the star of “Ruthless! The Musical” was still able to flaunt her highly trained dance background. Beginning with a sultry-fied rendition of “…Baby” and ending on a frenetic, thumping, futuristic version of “Crazy” (the DISENGAGE! remix?), Brit-Brit showed them Europeans what 14 years of tap, 13 years of jazz, and 11 years of hip-hop training looks like. #LeBowDown
