NEW ALBUM RELEASES

+ Various ArtistsThe Hunger Games: Catching Fire — Original Motion Picture Soundtrack: While the film won’t hit U.S. theaters until Nov. 22, we’ll have the sequel’s excellent soundtrack on Tuesday. The compilation features some of our fave artists, like Christina Aguilera (“We Remain“), Lorde (“Everybody Wants To Rule The World“), Sia (“Elastic Heart” featuring The Weeknd and Diplo), and Of Monsters and Men (“Silhouettes“).

Oh, and speaking of “The Hunger Games,” beginning tonight at 9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT on MTV.com, you’ll be able to walk the “Catching Fire” red carpet from home as MTV News’ Josh Horowitz asks your most burning questions to Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. Got a question? Tweet it using the hashtag #AskCatchingFire.

+ Cody SimpsonThe Acoustic Sessions: For this acoustic EP, Cody strips down tunes from Paradise (“Wish U Were Here”), Surfers Paradise (“La Da Dee,” “Pretty Brown Eyes”), and his Coast To Coast EP (“All Day“). Rounding out the five-song set, he even gets into the holiday spirit with “Please Come Home For Christmas.”

+ Jake Bugg, Shangri La: The debut album from 19-year-old Jake Bugg shot straight to No. 1 in his native England, and with his stomping alt-folk rock ‘n’ roll and mature songwriting chops, it’s easy to see why. His sophomore release sizzles with similarly defiant gusto on songs such as “Slumville Sunrise,” “What Doesn’t Kill You,” and “All Your Reasons,” and he takes romantic turns on “Me And You” and “A Song About Love.” Stream Shangri La in full via NPR before its release.

Check out more new album releases, upcoming TV appearances, and performances after the jump.

+ Blood OrangeCupid Deluxe: Another pseudonym for Devonté Hynes (aka, Dev Hynes, aka, Lightspeed Champion), Blood Orange collaborated with everyone from Dirty Projectors‘ David Longstreth to Clams Casino on his second album. Watch the video for the sun-kissed grooving “Chamakay,” which features additional vocals from Chairlift‘s Caroline Polachek. In it, the soulful Hynes meets his Guyanese grandfather for the very first time.

+ DaughtryBaptized: Fans of the “American Idol” alum’s band will find their alt-rock radio style as strong as ever on hooky songs like “Waiting For Superman,” which was cowritten by Boys Like Girls‘ Martin Johnson and producer Sam Hollander. Stream Baptized before its release via VH1.
