Watch Fifth Harmony sing a jazzy cover of Rihanna’s “Stay.”
Here’s the thing: We didn’t really neeeed another cover of Rihanna‘s “Stay.” Not only is one sad bath all we can take, but we’ve already got plentyyy of “Stay” covers by people like Adam Lambert, Jared Leto, Rebecca Black, and Vin-frickin’-Diesel.
That said, maybe you can find room in your heart for just one more “Stay” cover, especially if it’s a jazzy rendition sung by the ladies of Fifth Harmony!
Watch Fifth Harmony cover Rihanna’s “Stay” after the jump.
Filmed as part of Billboard’s “Candid Covers” video series, Fifth Harmony’s “Stay” rendition is a jazzed-out spin on Rihanna’s original. In fact, they made “Stay” sound like an entirely different song!
Armed with only their voices and a solo guitar player, Ally, Normani, Dinah, Camila, and Lauren topped their song off with some a cappella-esque “ahhhh-ohhhs,” took turns singing Rihanna’s haunting verse, and generally transformed the original melancholy pop ballad into a jazzy, smoky, minor-chord-filled paradise.
Seriously, future cover singers take note (AHEM, VIN DIESEL) — this is the way to do it. *Bows down*
